I have not lost any weight in months. i lose 2 lbs. gain it back lose 5 lbs. gain it back. I am eating like my nutrionist says. I am drinking water and getting in protein. I am also exercising. What  do I do??  I have lost a good amount of weight but was hoping to get below 200. I am still at 257 to 262. Anyone else lose so slow or stop losing?

Any suggestions?

If you aren't doing so already, start logging all of your intake and activity on one of the online programs like www.fitday.com, www.sparkpeople.com, or www.mydailyplate.com ... I like mydailyplate the best. This way you will really 'know' what you are consuming and how much energy you are expending. Also be sure that you are measuring everything and wearing a pedometer to gauge your activity.

Next, see about getting yourself a copy of 'The Beck Diet Solution' book and workbook and pace yourself through it.

Wishing you all the best,

Barbara has good advice, as always!  I just wanted to give you my sympathies since I feel I'm heading for the same boat since my body is also being so stubborn about letting the excess weight go.  Month 4 was a 6 lb. loss and month 5 was a 5.2 lb. loss.  I used to lose better than this BEFORE gastric bypass!  lol  The past 2 weeks I've fluctuated the same pound or two.  We are hoping it's my inactive bowels that are causing my metabolism to be off whack.  Are you having any trouble with that?  That's the only key we can figure out that is preventing my weight from falling off like it should.  Good luck!!!

shauna, I am a little slow in the bowel department for sure but my problem started when I had my gallbladder attack and then surgery. It seems ever since that I am just sitting still when it comes to weightloss. I have increased exercise, increased protein and increased water intake. But still no weightloss and thank God no weight gain.

But it is frustrating to go through all this and not lose what I thought I would. But I am going to try Barbs suggestion plus right now I am doing the 5 day pouch test. Trying to re-start everything.

I can sympathize.  I'm only about 4 months out and I hit a plateau.  Then I actually gained a few pounds!  HUH?  I feel like I'm doing everything right, although my activity level isn't what it should be.  My energy level has been super low though.  I come home from work and often have to lie down I'm so tired.  Plus I've felt for two weeks At any rate, the number on the scale hasn't gone done since April 8th and I'm not happy about that.

keep up the good work. You have lost so much and come so far. Try the 5 day pouch test. I started it yesterday and am down a 1lb. this morning.

Actually I weighed this morning and I went down almost two lbs in the last two days, but I still have a little to go to get back to where I was on April 8th (see ticker below for that weight).  I have been feeling like my period is about to start for over a week now.  I wi**** would go ahead and start!  I think this bloaty feeling and weight gain will melt off once my period starts.

I just wanted to say I feel what you are going through. I started at 467 .... I'm stuck at 277.  I can't break it no matter how hard I try. I think I'm going to be trying what Barbara suggested too. I feel like I have to be doing something wrong or this is one heck of a plateau (since Feb).  My goal was 225. I'm so close and it's so frustrating

You are doing so great. I appreciate the encouragement and to know others are having issues also. We will all overcome this obstacle.  I am down 1 lb, this morning by doing the 5 day pouch test.
