Congrats Barb!!  I can remember the very beginning of your journey and how closely I followed your transition from pre-op to post-op, knowing that I wasn't far behind you.

It has been my pleasure to travel with you on this journey for the past 2 years. I find it so sad that so many of the "old-timers" aren't here posting regularly anymore.  I know that life has to go on and that in many ways it is a good thing that we don't see many of the further out post-ops here regularly as that means that life is good and they are out really enjoying their new selves.  But it still saddens me as I believe they have so much knowledge that they could share with the newbies, like you constantly do.  I know that for me, when I was pre-op, I couldn't get enough of the post-ops posting helpful hints and ideas.

So keep on keeping on, and here's looking to many more years of sharing and caring on this incredible journey.

Hugs and blessings,
Donna

Hi Donna,

Thank you for your constant support and commiseration. I agree that I wish that so many that started with us were still here would come back and post, but I do understand moving on. Sometimes I wonder if I have anything to offer those coming behind me as my journey has leveled off.

I'm glad you still come back and pay it forward too.

Wishing you continued success and happiness,

I think you and others that have been through the surgery have a lot to offer the ones that are coming behind you guys. If it was not for you guys we will be lost. I am very thankful of the advice that you give. A lot of people stop posting once they have the surgery and forget about where they have come from. Studies say that for contiued success you need some type of support group. I once again say, Thank You and Congrats on your two years!

Thank you for your support and I too have seen the studies that indicate that those who make life style changes and stay active in support groups are statistically the most successful.

Wishing you every success in  your own journey,

Congratulations Barbara.  I wanted to let you know that the biggest lesson I have learned from you is that this immediate time after the surgery can be hard but losing is not the hardest part.  Maintaining your goal weight is.   It is so easy to get caught up in the thrill of losing weight.  It is like you almost have tunnel vision with only your goal weight as the finale. I think once I get to 135lbs everything will be down hill from there.  You taught me that isn't so.  Hard work and good decisions must continue for us to be successful.  It has made me take a hard look at what new habits I am making.  I thank you for that.

Thanks Sandy...

I'm glad that I've been able to help. I wish I'd had someone do that for me and I know that you'll do it for those who follow you as well.

We all benefit when we support one another and pay it forward.

Wishing you much continued success... In the short term (weight loss) and long term (maintenance).
