Topic: My Update

I have gone MIA from this site for a long time.  I have been out living life and doing things that my weight  (once upon a time hindered)  For those of you who dont know me  I started out weighing over 300 lbs and now I am down to 118  from a size 26/28 to a size 2. I have posted some pictures from our recent trip to Disneyworld.  There was no way I could have done that at 300 plus pounds

Would I have this surgery again?  You betcha! Even if the first few months were kind of rough.

Just thought I would check in.

Hi all,

Oh my, so many things going on.  Anyway, early work day today.  Normally this was my day off but now I don't have a day off.  I work all week and a few hours on Saturday.  Found out that my stepson is coming down from MD on Friday. I think my brother-in-law is also coming but staying with his sister.  Their mom isn't doing too good.

Today I am going to have to get some studying done.  Maybe I will do that Saturday after work also since Steven will be studying as well.  Good idea!

Happy Valentine's Day all!!

Hi Jenn,

It looks like they may be covering bariatric surgery. I found the following posting on the Lapband forum. You may want to contact some of the members that said that they have information about WLS coverage through NC Medicaid. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/LapBand/4491949/Looking-for-anyone-whos-had-Lap-Band-who-has-NC-Medicaid/

Wishing you all the best,

Hi all,

It's weird when you can't keep your eyes open so you go to bed only to lay awake.  Why is that?

Anyway, today is recycling, post posters around in libraries, support group, staff meeting, may do some networking in the community, conference call then home.  Spend the rest of the day with hubby.  Sounds like a full day.  A good day.

What about you all?

Hey,it doesn't make a difference. My goal is 185, I lost almost 30lbs before surgery. Your goal doesn't change.

Hi all,

Nice and chilly out there huh?  I won't be out much today that is for sure.  Have to take mom-in-law to church this morning but I think that's about it for outside.

Today I have to prepare for my support group tomorrow.  I have finally done my filing! I have a bit more to do in the office.  It's weird.  I used to spend so much time back there when we lived here before.  Now my office is my lazyboy recliner. What does that mean??? Don't answer that lol.

Have a good day all.

I'm planning for surgery sometime this summer (RNY).

What I'm wondering is this:  if I lose, say, 30 or 40 lbs before my surgery, by the time I am "done" losing weight after my surgery, will I end up at a lower weight because I lost weight before the surgery, or does it not make a difference?

Hello all,

Getting myself too busy again.  I guess that's good lol.

People have been asking me about the support group I am starting at Curves. This is only the beginning.  Since our Curves has a Wellness Center associated with it, we have many of the tools needed to succeed in weight loss.  I am going to be starting a  lot of new groups in the future and hopefully a bariatric group as well.  I know many of you probably have been to a Curves and left unsatisfied.  I'd like to change that opinion and I am working on that as we speak.  It doesn't have to be boring.  It can be fun, educational and exciting!  My boss and I share the same vision and together we want to build it like no other Curves.

We are working on a March event that is sure to be a lot of fun!  I will have more info later.

Today I am going to a business lunch at Perkin's in Apex. Then I have to stop by Curves to see if the room I will be using is set up.  After that, not sure.

What are you up to today?

Hi all,

Today I will be finalizing the start of a new weight loss support group at Curves that meets weekly at 10 am on Mondays.  I am so excited!  Having a weekly group will make it so much easier for folks to keep connected.  Also we are finalizing our St. Patrick's Day Ceili event.  I can't wait.

Have a great day all!!
