Scared to start my quilt!

Hi. Well, I found a cat quilt in a magazine, and I have bought the material and have cut out the templates, but I haven't kicked myself in gear yet to start it. Help! I think it's that perfectionist demon rearing his ugly head again. I think I'm afraid that it won't turn out the way I want it to, so I just haven't started it yet. Do any of you struggle with this? Any suggestions for getting going? Thanks! Peg

hi peg, ive never done a quilt so im sorry i cant help but i was wondering what the cats look like. what colors are the quilt? i bet it will b beautiful once ur done-- i love cats. get started so we can see the finished peice! lisa

Hi Lisa. I knew I could get you to give me a swift kick in the pants! I'm going to go get my hair cut this morning, and then I am going to do SOMETHING on my quilt...even if it is just cutting out one of the colors! The cat shape is all one piece, and I am going to do some embroidery on the face of it. It is appliqued onto the center of a block, and then the paw of it hangs below onto another block. I will also be piecing together hearts that are also appliqued onto a block. I'm glad I have Scissor Sisters on Friday because the gals there are very helpful and encouraging.
