any holiday projects?
i know everyone is always busier this time of year but i was wondering if anyone has any special holiday projects going right now? i am looking for something to do since i have finished my 'cancer caps' for right now. i dont have lots of money but im bored.
i need to make one of those throw covers for my mom for christmas. i want to do the no-sew kind where u tie the ends together and its made of fleece. i think she'll like that and it would keep her warm whether she is in her chair or bed. (mom lives in a nursing home now) but other than that im outta ideas for making things. i have some patterns for crocheting socks and leg warmers. maybe ill do that for my daughter. anyone have any other easy ideas for me? i cross stitch, crochet some, and just bout anything else. hey i even got me some scrapbook kits im gonna try my hand at that this year.
lisa
Hi Lisa. I have been thinking about you! How are you doing since your surgery? Sounds like you must be doing okay if you're getting bored! I am still doing physical therapy on my shoulders, so I haven't gotten and further on my quilt. However, as soon as I'm able, I'll be all over it! I bought one of those fleece kits for a baby a while back. I have a niece who is expecting a girl in April, so I think I'll make it up for her when I'm able. You take care, and I hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Peg,
hey girl, hows ur shoulders doing? its no fun being hurt for the holidays! im doing great! now knock on wood, i breezed through surgery with no complications and so far ive only been sick twice. but both times were my fault. its hard learning to eat that 1 oz. but im doing much better at it now! im already off 3 meds (blood sugar med, blood pressure med, and water pill) and im down 16 lbs ! im feeling great, like a new woman already. i did have a bit of excitement last thursday--i totalled my car. i just didnt see that lady coming. but i didnt hurt myself or my new pouchy. and everyone else involved was able to walk away too! im so glad cause it could have been much worse.
yes im already bored here at home and with it being cold i dont want to get out and walk like i need too. i been doing some cleaning but its hard with my lifting limit right now.
i did start making my daughter some leg warmers. she cant wait til i finish them. they r baby pink and gonna be really scrunchy. i cant believe how easy the pattern is. i think im gonna try to make some socks next. anything to avoid doing my cross-stitch pattern i need to finish-lol.(im all care bear-ed out!!)
well hope ur doing great and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Hi Lisa. How are things in Kentucky today? I couldn't sleep, so I've been up since about 5 a.m. Hey, if you want to write to me, my email address is [email protected]
I'd love to hear from you. I'm trying to get the Oregon message board a little more involved in posting. I met another gal on-line there, and we are trying to get more people posting, plus we met earlier in the week and are trying to get an informal support group going in our area. Wish us good luck!
I'm making a little progress with my shoulders. It seems I also have a couple of ribs that don't want to work right, so they are giving me a good workover. Ouch! I'd love to get to the point where I can start swimming again, but I'm not ready yet. Well, you take good care of yourself. I'm so glad you made it through the surgery well.

Hi Lisa,
I can give you a very awesome place to use your crocheting talents. I coordinate a volunteer group who works to provide afghans and layettes to families who have suffered the loss of their baby. We also provide preemie blankets, hats and booties to area hospitals for the neonatal units. Throughout the year we collect full size blankets to be distributed at Christmas time to the Outreach for Christ Mission and the Samaritan House battered womens shelter. Our full size twin and baby afghans went to Mississippi and Louisianna this year to provide warmth to babies effected by hurricane Katrina.
We would love to have your help with our work and make your a part of our crocheting family.

Hi Lisa. So how are things in Kentucky today? It's chilly here in the Portland area. I'm still going to physical therapy, and I'm going to Scissor Sisters on Friday. I will probably just mingle and not do much knitting. Sure hope to be able to get back to it. I have all the material for my sister's cat quilt, so when I'm better, I'm going to start on that. Take care, and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas.
Peg
