Use Your Knitting and Crochet Talents
I saw this interest section and had to put this up. I coordinate a volunteer group which works with families suffering infant losses. Please go to our site and think about joining us in our work to help these families. We are always in need of willing hands and donations of finished baby items. I store everything at my house and take them out to the hospitals as they are needed.

Hello! My name is Brittany Roark. I am not a professional or anything, but I have taken up crocheting since my husband now works third shift. I would be interested in helping! Is there more info you can send me? My email address is [email protected]. Thanks!
To Liz and all you other angels who contribute these items. I want to express my thanks and let you know just what it means to a family *****ceives these wonderful labors of love.
My daughter & her hubby gave birth to a baby boy at 26 weeks gestation. The delivery was an emergency caesarean with complications. Mattaeus weighed 1 lb 12 ¼ oz. And was 12 ¼ inches long. He lived for 19 hours on full life support. My daughter and SIL were holding him when the machines were turned off.
Following his death, the NICU nurses dressed him in a tiny gown, a beautiful crocheted cap and matching blanket. They then took pictures of him looking like a peacefully sleeping beautiful baby. We treasure these portraits as well as the clothing items that were given to my daughter in a bereavement package.
If not for the time, efforts and talents of people like you, we never would have seen our sweet little angel dressed since they don't make clothes small enough for these "super preemies". He was wearing these items when we got to have him in my daughter's hospital room to say our goodbye's.
May God bless you for providing comfort to parents (and grandparents) experiencing this devastating loss.
