Look at this site if you think you would like to learn to knit
You are welcome! I learned to knit with my needles and a skein of yarn by trial and error. It was because my mom said I was a$$ backwards and that I couldn't learn to crochet. She did beautiful crochet work and didn't have the patience to teach me because I was and still am a leftie.
Once I taught myself to crochet, I decided to learn to knit because "She couldn't". I made her a pair of slippers for a first project in wool, when she washed them, they shrunk. Oh well.
I hope you find the site a good reference and that it is helpful. Best wishes. Carol

Hi Carol,
Wow that is pretty good that you taught yourself how to knit. I learned from my mother in-law last winter at her house in New Hampshire.
I've seen left handers taking knitting classes--many drop out. I'm glad that you stayed with it--knitting is pretty fun. Although I haven't had much time to knit lately--I look forward to getting back to it.
Bummer that she washed the socks--wool does shrink. I guess you could keep them as felted baby booties
Mary
