Hello!

Thanks for sharing your story! I know you must be so frustrated right now but have have you ever thought about possibly doing a medically supervised weight loss program? This way you could avoid surgery and further prevent any chances of  gaining the weight back. We just recently had a client who lost 110 lbs in 6 months all natural (with medical supervision) and she will be hosting a holiday party at our center. We are located at 217 Route 22 East Green Brook NJ 08812. We would love for you to attend the mtg! You may contact me at 732 968 0200.

Topic: RE: Has anyone ever????????

I would just like to let you know that no matter how down you may feel about yourself at times, there are things about you that make you unique and different and those things will always make you BEAUTIFUL! I am a counselor at Physicians Weight Loss Ctrs NJ and so many of my clients suffer from the same body dismorphia. Its important to realize that the way you see yourself is essential to your success on any weight loss journey. If you only see the negatives you will be less inclined to take steps to take care of yourself. Usually our center is the last stop before someone decides to lose weight through surgery, so we are introduced to a number of stages of depression and distorted views in our clients. It's also important to realize that weight loss is a one step at a time deal. You have to celebrate every good decision you make thats good for your body and understand that 1 lb turns into 5lbs and 5lbs turns into 10lbs etc. It's a step by step journey and you never have to do it alone! If you are interested in more information you may contact me at 732 968 0200. Good Luck and Stay Beautiful!

Doctor Abkin saved my life and I will forever be indebted to him for that.

The folks at Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeons of Morris County are phenomenal. They have always been top notch with me.

I f you haven’t done it already, I know Doctor Abkin would love to for you to  add your comments in this section of OH. He gets notified of it.

Congratulations on your success! Although I am a bypass patient, I know several people who have had Dr. Abkin as their surgeon. They have always spoken very highly of him and his staff!

Don't let the adjustments scare/intimidate you! If you continue to reach out here on this board, I'm sure you'll make many friends/acquaintances who can relate.

Here's to your continued success! - Nancy

I am relatively new to the WLS world. I am 5 months post op from lap band surgery, and I have lost 53 pounds. I cannot tell you how happy I am with the services I have received from Dr. Abkin's office. Although they are constantly busy, I have found them to be exceptionally professional and compassionate. Dr. Abkin is a kind, compassionate doctor who always seems to remember me (and not just because he just read my file out in the hallway). He took very good care of me during my first adjustment where I almost passed out (he states it's common during adjustments). I do not know many people personally who need this type of surgery, but I recommend Dr. Abkin and the Florham Park surgeon's office to anyone needing WLS assistance. He has changed my life, and as I said to him last week during my checkup, he has quickly become one of my favorite people!

Thanks.  I stated getting really concerned because the hospital has a poor rating on healthgrades.com but I don't know where that date comes from or how reliable.  I think the care you get really depends on the nurses and whether or not you have an advocate. My husband has said he'll make sure I'm taken care of and I plan to speak with Dr. Greenbaum ahead of time regarding my concerns.

Topic: RE: Has anyone had surgery from Dr. Earl Noyan out of Centra State?
I know I'm late in responding but here's my two cents.  I am 7 years out.  Was having problems with a stricture.  Original surgeon was too far away so I went to a general gastro doc for dilation.  Had complications and was rushed to RWJ Hamilton.  Dr. Noyan discovered that my stomach had been perfed and fixed it.  Two days later I was back again and Dr. Prokurat fixed my ruptured intestine.  They saved my life.  Of course I had major issues after that, spent 6 weeks in the hospital, but it had nothing to do with their work.  Once my intestine ruptured all the bacteria spilled into my bloodstream causing sepsis and then it was downhill after that.

I recommend them.  They stepped right up to the plate, without even knowing me, and took care of me.  I will be changing to them from now on.  My original surgeon, great guy and no problems is just too far away should something like this happen again.
