Topic: New October laws for Notaries!
Hello fellow notaries,
I received an email from a Co-worker of mine and wanted to share it with others regarding the new laws taking effect October 1, 2006.
Hello to all of you!
The much debated New N.C. Notary Laws go into effect October 1, 2006. This is the second time around. The laws were originally supposed to go into effect January 1 of this year. Our State Legislature made additional changes during this year's Legislative Session, and now we have a new effective date.
Notary Statements will have to be very structured after this goes into effect, and Notaries must take responsibility for identifying, to the best of their ability, the people for whom they are notarizing signatures. Forms of identification will now become part of the notary statements when the person is unknown to the notary.
There are 2 classes being sponsored by the National Notary Association (NNA), one on Tuesday, September 19, and one on Saturday, October 21, both at the Westin Hotel uptown. These are $39.00 for members of NNA and $59.00 for non-members. You can register for those on line at www.NationalNotary.org/training or you can call 1-800-876-6827.

Creating your own post - how to use emoticons
Emoticons associated with your post's title
One emoticon may be associated with your post's title. (We currently do not support embedding emoticons in post titles; the emoticon image you select to go with your post will appear to the left of the post's title.) To select an emoticon image to go with your post title, click the down-arrow marked Title Images to the left of the area where you will type your post. A menu of images should appear; click on one to make it the title image of your post. The image you have selected will appear outlined in red in the Title Images menu.
Emoticons inserted into your post
As many emoticons as you like may be inserted into the body of your post. To view the available emoticons which you may insert, click the down-arrow marked Message Emoticons to the left of the area where you type your post. You will see a list of textual representations of emoticons and their corresponding emoticon images. To insert an image into your post, type the corresponding text. For example, to include this image :-) in your post, you'd type :-), and to include this one  you'd type .Click here to view a list of all members who have posted to this message board.
