Hi Debra, Glad to hear you're doing well. What, if anything, did your surgeon say about criteria for returning to work before you had the surgery? Do you feel ready? Sounds like you're on top of your game nutrition wise anyway.... BLD: clear liquids, Multivitimins, Vitimin B12, Calcium citrate, Actigall (yuck!). I'm only taking Tylenol for pain now. No more narcotics! Missing food and finding it very interesting and curious (as well as a little depressing). Such a big difference between wanting to eat and being hungry. Two very different things. Anyway, keep on truckin'. Hugs to you, Amy

Amy, That is the thing, no one said anything about how long to stay off my feet So I will ask him tomorrow....and let him know about the lack of instruction. I feel so much better today then yesterday, i guess being off my feet really helps. Yeah the months after my WLS were very depressing and exciting for me, I was mourning the loss of my fav foods and breaking off that bad relationship. Know that is you are feeling depressed that it is normal... ~hugs~ That will all come to pass and to know that those things can come back into your life but VERY limited is cool to know. If you need anything, just let me know...I am here to chat anytime... Debra P

Hey Debra. I have actually branched out a bit with my eating. Yesterday, I had Roadside Lemonade Protein drink L: 2 cheese sticks, a tangerine, and some rice chips. D: Sausage and zucchini S: HOneydew and cool whip. And, EVERYTHING STAYED DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Meat stuck a bit, but at least I did not like usual. Also, vitamins, and WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (OH, and always my coffee. ) Have a great day. S

Hi, I have not had the surgery yet but I am considering it, I am 247lbs 5'8. I need to ask , does the surgery make it easier to stick to that diet and eat the right foods, because if I could eat those foods I could maybe loose it on my own. One of my biggest fears is to go get lapband surgery and find out that I am addicted to food and will just continue to eat until the stomach stretches. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks it seems great here... Shannon

Shannon, Wow this is a loaded question I have to say... well i know for me i have to lose 160 lbs and now way was i able to lose it without the HELP of this tool, but being out 11 months it is just as hard as before to control eating and pick the healthier foods for sure and I STILL need to work on my eating problem that i had before surgery, still there because they do not work on your brain just your pouch. You really have to make this choice on your own but i can offer the above words to let you know that this is NOT the cure all but an awesome tool that really helps!!! I can eat more now then at the begining but it will never be as much as i eat before but i also had the RNY not the banding. Hun just read all you can about this and make your choice from that, the more you know the better you will be. I hope that helped you some..... ~hugs~ Debra P
