Yay today is the day after my surgery 2 years ago!!! (5/10/04) I just felt I wanted to shout it from the roof top! but,.. I cant climb so I'll do it here! 2 years later I've kept 170 lbs off without any complications or issues, but gained 10 lbs because I'm 5 - 1/2 months pregnant. For those thinking twice about it,... it is the greatest thing I have ever done! Just remember always to put your trust in God 1st and foremost. From there, the sky is the limit. I went from a size 30 jeans to a size 6 (well not now that I'm preggers lol) and it feels great. OK JUST WANTED TO LET IT OUT! Jessy, mom to Chris, 7 & Elena, 4 WLS - 5/10/04 Due Date - 9/21/06 (cause 2 kids aren't enough!)

Hi Jessy, Thank you for sharing that. I just had my surgery about a week ago and it's so nice to see success long term, which is the reason we all opt for such a radical intervention. Congrats to you on your success and your new pregnancy. Amy

Dear Jessy, Thank you so much for posting your 2 year anniversary and pregnancy. Congratulaions on both. You bought tears to my eyes. I am 3 weeks post op and just had a major binge last night ate about 4cups of Chinese chicken and broccoli. Last night and this morning I had been feeling pretty quilty about that but when you said trust God 1st and foremost. I had to stop and reevaluate ...what the hell I did this all for. It had been smooth sailing for me these past 3 weeks keeping my emotional eating in check. But last night I had a few disappointments with both by son and daughter and a few nasty words later....4 cups of emotional eating. Today, at work I have packed myself the proper foods, sipping my water and I will exercise as well today....in spite of the rain. Thank you for being at the right time and the right place. See letting us newbies know that it works is very important. I was afraid that I wouldn't make it ...that slip that I had...I thought that I would be out of control. Today I turned my emotional overeating over to God again and began fresh and new this morning. And boy did I learn from that experience....I am worth it...I can not let anyone, even children to take me outside of myself. Food is not the way to stuff my emotions. I need to let people know how I feel and not let anyone or thing walk over me. Its really not their fault. I teach people how to treat me...but this noncense has to stop....I need to open my mouth and say loudly....NOOOO! Jessy contraulations on the pregnancy...ahhhhh....and way to go on the two year anniversary.....it works if you work it..... Hugs Susan

Thank you all sooooooo much! And Susan, I did the same. I am an emotional eater. And I remember being very early in post-op and having a rough time and wanting to cry my sorrows into a 3 layer pepper ridge farm cake and then got even MORE upset when I realize *I CANT I'LL GET SICK!* that was my sign that maybe weightloss wasnt going to be my physical AND mental cure-all, thats when I sought the church for personal healing and it has helped so much. And to be honest, you can lose 100 lbs, 200 lbs 500 lbs! and still have the same inner struggles you've had in the past. Alot of people were lucky and found counseling BEFORE having the surgery done, as a prep. I didn't. It wasn't till 3 months post - op that I realized I needed something other than surgery to help me with other underlying issues. Everyones different but if it helps in anyway I wanted to share it. You are in my prayers love! Jessy
