Sugar Free vs. No sugar added
I'm just starting stage three (soft foods) and have been crusing the aisles in the store for different items, there are some puddings, popsicles etc. that state "no sugar added" as apposed to "sugar free" my question is , looking at the sugar content, one item had 2 grams per serving, would you completly avoid them or not, I'm not talking for each and every meal but for a treat once in a great while ( they were fudgesicles, mmmmm)
i'm on stage 3 also, I'm 3 weeks out. the Sugar free is better them added are. The best but what you should look at the most is how much suagr is in a serving and how big the serving is. I try to stay below 12g of sugar a serving unless its a big serving because i know i'm not going to eat 16 oz of something at 20g sugar but i might he 1/2 of that 16 oz at 10 grams of sugar so i'm good. Things with natral sugars will say no sugar added.(like things with added fruit) how that helps maybe will run into each other in the Dr. Office (Dr Cunningham did mine)

Hi,
Since I am a diabetic I have had to look at these food labels for quite a while.
Things like pudding, fudge barts etc. are no sugar added because there is milk in them. There is sugar (lactose) in milk naturally. Those foods are fine for us because they do no have more than 7 grams of sugar. Enjoy your fudgesicles, cocoa and all of the other no sugar added things. I do and love them.
