Hi everyone, Hope the miserable rain we have in Old Chatham isn't drowning you all out as it is here...Hey, I have a question about calcium. I know that Calcium Citrate is most easily absorbed (bioavailable), but the Calcium citrate I have comes in these large hard oval pills that I fear will not break apart well in my new tender pouchie. I also have the chewables, but they're becomming barfy to me now...What types of calcium are you all using? Thanks, Amy PS Had cream of wheat this morning for breakfast! Yum! A delicious reprieve after 2 weeks on clears. Ate 1/2 a bowl (maybe 1/4 cup?) and was full! Wowy!

Amy, I have different kinds, I still like my chewables because I know they are broken down......because I chew them. Twinlab Chewable Calcium Citrate (250 mg per wafer - they taste like candy, yummmm) Viactive Chews (not much anymore but still have some around, rather take the Citrate but it must be ok since my labs are all good ) Bariatric Advantage choc chewable (Citrate, 400 mg per tab)(also i am going to try some of their other flavors since I am getting some free samples) Those are the three that I change around with..... Thanks Debra, I currently have the TwinLab Chewables you metioned. Maybe because I'm not eating much, they are becomming increasingly difficult for me to eat. I never thought of the Viactiv, though. That might work if I can find any cal citrate tabs to swallow.... Thanks! Amy

Hi amy I also take Bariatrac advantage chocklate chewable cal citrate there good! I also liked Viactiave ch. cal. but could not find calcum citrate in that brand ALso now that your moving to puraid it might coat your stomach a little and you won't feel so uk when takeing any vitiams.I also plan to try other flavers of B.A cal. I'll let you know how they are.

Hi Nancy, Nice to see your sweet face up on your posts! Thank you for your input on calcium. I'm hoping to find a easily digestable, lower dose (maybe smaller tablet) calcium citrate that I can just swallow. If I can't, I'll start trying the BA chewables. Thanks again, Amy

Amy, Try the Bariatric Advantage choc chewable, they taste sooooo good but the Viactiv is good as well but they are just not as good for you since we need to Citrate now..... Debra P

HIYA amy THIS RAIN IN NY STINKS! anyway... first 3 months i got my calcium thru tums. THEN i switched to VIACTIVE chews and i buy the citracel creamy chews in chocolate mint. THESE are my daily heavenly chocolate rewards! I enjoy. I take both calciums being its so debated. good luck in finding something you enjoy lisa

Yup, Lisa! The rain really does stink! I like the idea that different calciums might work at different times. I might try the Vactive chews for the time being until my pouch can handle big pills. Thanks for the good idea... Stay dry. Think blue skies. xox Amy

Hi Amy! I did what Lisa S did, the tums, then the Viactiv, now the Citracal chews, but I have the lemon flavor. I'll try the chocolate mint next. The sky is blue once again =) Kristine

MY calcium has become like a little cheat in the day. I am so happy with them its like a little piece of chocolate I am very comfy with the chews and i always worry a pill might go thru our pouch before it fully breaks down and gets in the system. AT least with a chew....its already breaking down. ALL the best lisa PS: yeah that sun was nice late today!
