How about a Regional Conference in CNY

Boy don't we know it up here in "northern and central NY". Whenever someone asks me where I'm from I never just NY, because it's just assumed that the only thing in NY is NYC.

I always tell people that I'm from "The other NY...the one that's not an island". You should see the funny looks people give you. But NY is a very large state with more people in the state of NY than in the entire country of Canada!
It's also important to note to those who live in NYC that for those who live in Massena, NY or even Buffalo, NYC is a 6-7 hour drive for them to get there. This is why we'd like to see a conference in Central NY, it's almost equal distance to most corners of the state.
You want to hear something funny? Where I live here in Camden we are 45 minutes to everywhere. The nearest mall is 45-60 minutes, and it's nearly 30 minutes to the nearest Walmart, and we think nothing of it. Of course we don't have the traffic issue you all have in the city, so that's nice. I wouldn't live anywhere else but northern NY.
At any rate if it's of any comfort to those in the city, Han**** International Airport in Syracuse is servicesd by JetBlue and one can usually get a round trip flight to and from Kennedy for not a lot of money, usually less than $200. Heck, sometimes if you catch them right you get here for less than $100 round trip. I've flown to NYC for a day once it was quite easy.
So, hopefully if we can make this happen you all down there in the city might just take the chance and come to the "real upstate" for a couple days. .

Hey! That sounds great!!! We have 4 very active surgeons here in Rochester, lots of busy support groups, and I am part of an informal exercize/support/clothing exchange group that meets regularly. I know of at least 25 people who would DEFINATELY go to a regional in Syracuse! Quite a few of them went to the Bandsters conference in Toronto last fall. Count us in!!!!

This would be an OH event and I would definitely talk to them about having some discussion on banding as well. Mainly it covers WLS regardless of type. It was great in Pittsburgh. So happy to see such a positive response.
