Public foamies

Oh boy...what a day. We had to go shopping for the Mother In Law today. I was eating raisins while I was waiting on hubby to get her list. They had gotten stuck and I will still having the episode by the time we got to Fishkill about 1/2 hour later. Then when we got in the store, I was still having it. I had to go to the bathroom twice and was walking around with tissues in my hand. How embarrasing! Anyone else have one of those? It's been awhile since I've had a major one like that. I am not eating very much since I got filled, I guess I will keep an eye on it for the next couple of weeks. Maybe I just need another day to take it easy. I'm so thankful for Isopure-LOL Kristine

Hi Kristine, It must have been Barf Across America Day, because I just had my first post operative barf on tuna fish today. Very scarey! I know what you mean about foamies! I never knew I could produce so much saliva in such a short period of time! EWWWWWWW! Lol! Hope you're feeling better! Hugs, Amy

You mean like the last time I went to the movies, ate popcorn and started to look like I had rabies? Oh I know what you are talking about. SO embarrassing. I felt more pity for my husband who has to be seen w/someone gagging and foaming than myself! I know my problems are different but foamies are foamies!! Stupid! Tavia

This has happened to me at work, for a while there it was almost every day (that finally stopped!) and I would stand in the bathroom for about an hour till it finally passed!

Never? Wow that's REALLY good. I told my surgeon I didn't have any episodes in the past month but later remembered I had forgotten the Chimichanga incident. I had eaten about a 1/3 of one. I should have just eaten the innerds, I know, but I wanted to see if I could tolerate the tortilla. Nope. It was a minor incident compared to some of the other incidents I had so that was probably why I forgot to tell her. LOL! Live and learn. Kristine

Kristine: Sorry that you had this experience. Raisins probably were real sticky I am assuming? No matter how well we chew they still 'gum up'. The foamies or slimes as some call it are the bodies was of LUBRICATING an irritated esophagus! So things can go up/down so to speak! Some say sip on fluid, will make it either go down or up! I can attest with a calcium citrate pill once earlypostop for 2 hrs I suffered w/ the foamies/slimes I hopped up/down, walked, nothing it was lodged in my stoma and irritating the heck outtame! Findally warm tea made it come up voilla I wondered after all that chect pain and problems 'why didn't I do that 2 hrs before!?' Well never happened again but I know what to do now in case!
