Tomorrow I have my one day pre-surgery liquid diet . All prepared with sugar free jello, chicken broth and ice pops. I even got a frozen lasagna to throw in the oven for my husband and son, I will not be cooking or sitting at the dinner table tomorrow. Thats way too tempting for me. I am both nervous/excited for Monday's surgery . I have to be at the hospital at 5:45am! I haven't packed yet, any suggestions on what I should bring? Thanks for the help.

DO NOT forget the chapstick, or something like that to moisten your lips, you'll need it. Wishing you the best for your surgery, see ya on the lighter side. Kristine

Hand cream, chapstick and good tissues! The tissues they give you in the hospital stink. I bring ear plugs b/c I can't stand hospital noise and the intercom, "Dr. Dring 7911, Dr. Dring 7911"...all day and night long, drives me batty! GOOD LUCK!

ahhhh its been one month since I posted the same post. All the above are good suggestions. I am sending you a fleet of angels to watch over you and your surgeon hands. They will make sure that all goes well and you return to us a LOSER. Let me know.....hugs Susan

Thanks for the advice. I did get the chapstick, tissues etc.. I am starving right now, fell asleep for hours today . I couldn't think of anything to do without eating-pathetic but true. Have to go finish packing and I will post again when I return from the hospital. Wish me luck --Suzette--

I got good advice [that I didn't listen to] prior to my surgery - PACK light! Chapstick [or Vaseline] and ear plugs, slippers & a robe - so you can run the halls on Monday night ;) I brought my favorite pillow - I brought my favorite pic of my family and hung it up by my bed ... but honestly I DID bring too much - I didn't use the iPod or read the books or magazines or change into PJ's or any of the other powders, hair stuff etc. and it ended up just being a PITA to gather it all up in addition to the loads of paperwork the hospital gives you on discharge and not feel like I was forgetting stuff. I would recommend bringing stuff that is disposable so you have to pack EVEN LESS. I did bring a list of phone numbers and pen and paper, which came in handy to write questions down for the next time the doc came in. Good luck!
