Fishkill Support Group Went Very Well!

Thank you Kristine, Marie, Susan and Kenny for coming! It was great to see you all there and it was nice to meet Marie, Kristine and Kenny for the first time! It went really well and I'm excited about having the opportunity to share real support issues every Sunday from now on! If anyone else is interested, the group meets every Sunday at All-Sport in Fishkill, downstairs in the KIDZONE room from 6pm to 7:30pm. You can always email me for more information or directions! I had fun! It was great meeting y'all too I was thinking of how fast I rambled..I'm not used to speaking in group, so I was nervous-LOL. I think coming last night really helped me to take my mind off things too! Kristine

Violet, I'm glad you posted because I was wondering how it went. Since the write-up said 1st & 3rd Sundays are focused on pre-op I didn't go. But I hope to go this Sunday. I also have to admit that since I have only told immediate family about my surgery I am a little leery of who might be there since I'm somewhat local to the area (I'll try to get over that Thanks. Hi Susie! I was so much the opposite. But I knew I'd have support from most people, especially those who've watched me struggle during the years. I only had one person who was opposed to me having this done, and she's changed her mind seeing the changes in me. What's said in the meetings are confidential too Now if I can find a babysitter, I can go every week. Kristine

Hi Susie, As it turned out there were more POST OP people than PRE OP! It doesn't matter what the focus is though, the group is always going to be for both! Hope to see you Sunday! Vi

Violet, I was all set to go to the support group at allsport but as I was ready to leave my house it got really dark and it started to hail large hailstones. I live in Amenia so I didn't want to tackle the mountain but I will be sure to be there next Sunday.....The funny thing was that it lasted only 20 minutes then I wouldn't have made it on time. Is this a sign as I am a pre-op and I need only verification that I attended 2 support groups (that's all I need for surgery). LOL. Cathy
