hi everyone, As of today , I am six weeks post op, and I am not losing weight as I thought I would. I have lost 21 pounds so far, but I go days...a week sometimes with the scales not moving at all. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Hi Marcy How are you with protein and water? Are you doing alot of high carbohydrates Are you walking & execising Take a careful look at these things and see if you can improve them if you are lacking If you follow the pouch rules it should work for you Just be patient you'll do fine Vivienne

hi Vee, thank you for replying ~ I follow your posts (and success) often on the website. My diet consists on mainly s/f applesauce, lo-fat/low sugar yogurt, and pudding, and cottage cheese, along with the protein drinks. ( still on soft menu) IF I do the drinks faithfully, I get in 45- 65 grams of protein, but have to say I havent been that good about it in the last week, my water- probably about 4-50 oz's most day.

This is not meant to be snotty in any way, but when was the last time you lost 21 lbs. in 6 weeks. I know I've never done that. Please remember that your body is going through changes and will need to "readjust" itself as you drop weight. If you are doing what you are supposed to, I'm sure the pounds will start coming off again. Stay positive and good luck on your journey.

Believe me, even though I'm pre-op, I certainly understand. You are doing a great job so far. Push those negative thoughts right out of your head.

Marcy, I am with Vee, there are so many other things that might add to that but 21 lbs in 6 weeks is very good hun... Also your body changes as it loses.....did you take measurement of yourself before? We are losing inches if not weight at times so your body just might need to catch up to the weight loss....give it time and just stick to your eating plan.... Take care Debra P

Hi Marcie I am in the same boat as you are *hun* ! I am just 4 week's and 2 day's out and have lost 22 lbs. but for the last 8 day's the scales have not budged ! I know that I am doing everything right , just as my doctor ordered , so I realize that it isn't the issue ! I am well aware of the stall's in this journey and still get so darn frusterated b/c I am not losing ! I too posted and asked for support from my friend's here on the NY board and I received just that ...Huge Support ! It made all the difference in how I felt about it ! Yeah , I am still a little frusterated about it but I know that if I ever need encouragment I can come here and these wonderful bunch of people will be here for me ! I know that I am not the only one going through this and neither are you so hang in there and soon , very soon the weight will start disappearing again ! The feeling's you have are normal , I too thought at first maybe I was eating too much or not doing something right but foungd that it just wasn't the case ! Congrat's on your 21 lb. loss , girl ! That is terrific ! You'll see , soon we will both be posting and telling everyone that we have lost such and such amount of weight ! Smile we are loser's ! and Carolee 328/249/155?

Carol, Hun congrats on your weight loss..YEAH These stalls can get very frustrating and they seem to be with us all the time. Our bodies are always changing and we must keep that in mind when our scale does not move.....HARD TO DO I KNOW! Take care Debra P

Vee & Carol.... You are both doing just fine. Keep doing what you're doing with the protein, water, exercise and your doctor's instructions. There is one thing you need to change and I'm sure alot of the post-ops will agree with me. STAY OFF THE SCALE!!!!! DO NOT WEIGH YOURSELF EVERYDAY!!!!! You are torturing yourself by weighing too often. You should only weigh yourself at the doctor's office or once a month. You will make yourself crazy. Joanne
