LOL, I keep meaning to tell my surgeon I want a job with them to give power point presentation at their seminars. The one I attended had info for both, but really concentrated on RNY. I think I'd be a good candidate Kristine

Lap Band on 05/03/06 with
Okay, Kristine, if you are a "lap band info sponge" as you say, can you tell me if I should call or go to my doctor if I have been coughing (sometimes a lot, sometimes a little) and sometimes bringing up some kind of mucous (I thought it could just be allergies, although I don't recall ever having them before), and now, sitting at work, I have a pain in my chest, a little to the right of the middle, between my breasts. It's funny, cause I went to the surgeon yesterday for a follow up and I was so excited about losing and he saying continue to do what I am doing (which is cheating a bit), that I forgot to mention the coughing and occasional chest pain (which was NOT present when I was there). However, later in the day and while at work (I work at night), the chest pain came pretty strong (when I breathe in - not bothersome when not taking deep breaths). So, should I call and try to get an appt again? (it is soooo hard to get in to see him) or should I follow up with my PCP? Or should I just ignore it and it will go away cause it did before? Yours, June

Hi June, I'd probably call the PCP. If I was freshly post op, I'd call the surgeon, but it's been over a month since you've had surgery, I don't think it's necessarily surgery related. If you were immediately post op, I'd worry more about the risks that go with it, pneumonia, and that big "A" word can't think of the name but it's when your lungs could collapse(that's why they have you use the breathing sphirometer. But that's just what I would do, personally . Kristine
