Hi Guys!
How is everyone? What is new around here? Keep me in the loop!
I havent been reading too much though, I have been bad...
My son has been so sick so I have been busy (and beyond tired) dealing w/his 6pm, 930pm, 11pm, 230am, 5 am barf sessions and crying all night until we both pass out on the couch at 8 am. Then somehow I have to wash all of these sheets that he barfs on and for the love of me, I cant get the smell off of them! *sigh* Motherhood, what can I say? WHY DIDNT ANYONE WARN ME?!?!? J/K
Anyway, I actually put on 1.5 pounds in two months (on the surgeons scale), which is a good thing! I have to get up and stay in the 100s for petes sake! I know I can do it soon!
Anyway, here is what he says that can be done:
1-recontructing the whole Y connection by taking out the whole Y connection bowels and making a fresh one.
2-building a whole new roux limb and Y connection(same as number 1)
3-the reversing everything.
Those are my fun options.
I am going to try to see if it gets any better in the next month or so, then forget it if it doesnt...slice me open and fix it up! *sigh* I will call the office next week to set up my pre-surgery meeting (w/dennis) with the surgeon and get my offical date. I asked him to put me in for something in july on a tuesday. He said, "whatever you want". Ha. I have 110% faith in him that he will do what is right for me and that is all that matters. He has helped me to have faith in good people.
Anyway, I am going to go drop off my usual RXs he refilled today (xanax, lexapro, miralax, prevacid) and call it a night b/c Dennis will be home soon. Artificial pooping/happiness here I come! Take care and feel good everyone!!

Dear Tavia,
First of all, I am sorry your son is sick, and I hope he gets better soon. Oh yes, I remember those nights cleaning vomit- no fun!!
Anyway I am sorry to hear you have to go through surgery again, but the good new is you gained a little weight! Any chance you are on the road to recovery without the surgery?? I will be praying for you!

Hi Ida,
How are you doing?? Thanks for the well wishes on my son. He is doing alittle better today.
Yes, maybe it might be better on its own, that is a possiblity. However I had my surgery close to a year and half ago and since then, I can't remember ever not living w/these symptoms on a daily basis. I had the first toast toast in Dec. and just last week. There isnt too much of a difference if not a little worse(Barium passing but not the food which didnt happen in Dec.) I told him I will wait until the end of july then slice and dice away!!
It totally might get better but I am thinking it wont and this is no way to live. This has to get better for the sake of my son and husband b/c they have to live w/it as well, not just me. Enough is enough you know?
Thanks so much for your prayers! Feel good!

Ahh the joy of midnight barfing of the kids. My heart goes out to you. I hope your son is on the mend soon. There are much better ways of spending the middle of the night....
On your other news, which procedure are you leaning towards, new roux limb or reversal? Does Dr. Gellman (sp?) seem to be leaning towards one over the other? How about Dennis? I think it sounds like a good move to make some change or the other surgically, although I am happy to hear that you were able to gain some weight. I hope you don't catch what your son has!! Drink lots of fluids, rest as much as you can, and wash your hands like crazy!!!
Ugh...all you need is more medical advice right now, huh?
I was very happy to see your post. I've been worried about you.
Big hugs to you,
Amy

Amy,
No its gellgod!!
j/k He thinks recontructing the limb/connection would be the best way to go and Dennis and I agree.
So far I feel fine but usually once my son gets sick, I get sick. What can you do?
Thanks for thinking about me! I am here, you know me I keep going and going...

Hey Tavia,
Im sorry your son is so sick
I hope he feels better soon!!!
First off I am so happy that you were able to gain 1.5 pounds in 2 months that is great. As for surgery, Im sure you were not suprised, you must be fixed!!! Have you thought about which option you would do? Did he give you what he thinks is best for you? Just think at this point you are a case study and soon enough you will be FAMOUS!!!! Everyone will be studying your case. The best will be how amazing it all turned out. I believe that you will be very happy in your future. That you will like to eat again, be healthy and look in the mirror and say " I had such an amazing attitude through out all of this and it finally paid off!!!."
You are an awesome soul and the old saying what goes around comes around, its comming your way so sit back smile and enjoy the ride.
If you were having surgery on 6/27 we could have walked the halls together high as a kite
hope your spirits are still super high cause we all love you...
I dont pray but you will be in my thoughts.
Many hugs
Happy

Hey you!
I certainly do not want to be famous for(and to quote gellgod) the girl w/ "all of these..." "All of these..." "ALL OF THESE!" He always says that and never finishes that sentence!
Almost as annoying as his infamous "what is going on"
You are right. Once everything is said and done I will be happy. I mean I am happy, it is just beyond annoying and frustrating to deal with "all of these..." Ha
We think taking out the limb/connection is the way to go. Good bye stupid limb!
I am so insane that I am alittle excited to get this done. At least I know everything is being attempted to get me better, you know? On the other hand, I am having some trouble going potty. He said to me today, "sneezing out alittle piece of poopy doesnt count as going to the bathroom." Too funny. I have to keep on top of taking my miralax.
You know, the last surgery while I was lying on the operating table, gellgod asked me how I doing and I said "Oh I am so happy!". He told Dennis right after what I said and how I was giggling and wiggling like I was dancing but I was amazing like that. I call it insanity!
Anyway, how are you feeling? The gallbladder surgery really isnt so bad. All they do is snip snip it out and thats it. You stay overnight then freedom!! I will certianly come and walk the halls with you anyway though! Maybe I will throw a hospital nighty on me and trick them into thinking I'm back sooner rather than later. This way I can complaint of my"all of these..." and get high as a kite w/you. Ha. Thanks so much for your nice words, they really do mean a lot. Take care and feel good!
