~~~Marah~~~ Hello, first tell us what you have tried to eat? Sometimes it is purely behavioral changes we can make to help ourselves, but sometimes it is mechanical. At 4 weeks many are eating ~ 2Tablespoons of soft foods such as yogurt, cottage cheese, ricotta, jello, NSA applesauce (*don't make that a meal no protein but an option), oatmeal, instant mashed taters w/ protein powder, tofu, string cheese stick (1/2 or whole thing if able)...laughing cow cheese wedge, tuna or shrimp or imitation crab or chicken ground up in minichopper w/ mayo for moisture, some put a few tsp on a wheat thin or 3. NOTHING should be eaten FAST, that may be the isue, that 2 T should last 15 minutes! Sit, chew, wait in between, that helps A lot of people! in a month or so people advance to small amounts of real food keeping away from sugar, fats, fried things... here is a link for some ideas, http://www.sabariatric.com/diet.php (*LOOK AT THE LINKS ON RIGHT FOR PostOp Diets - Gastric Bypass Diet - Adjustable Band Diet - Diet Rules for Recovery - Diet Rules for Life - Keys to Success many say mushy can go on a crunchy (tuna on a cracker so to speak!) or peanutbutter on a cracker. IF pouchie is angry or upset, return to warm fluids for a meal up to a day, a angry pouch stays that way for a while so soothe it! Swelling and healing is still preent in your new tummy, think of self a a newborn baby, on fluids then softs etc. Some people even use babyfood (eww) but an option! DO you do protein shakes? A great option to get the needed protein in for healing and is a fluid so shouldnt hurt! ______________________ I like PVL whey gourmet flavors the best, White chocolate, vanilla, raspberry, caramel dip, milk chocolate, PB chocolate, blueberry, orange cremescicle....This is where I order it online: (2# tub $21.95) http://www.a1nutritionproducts.com/buy/pvl/whey_gourmet Most 120 cal 23g protein a scoop 2.6 g carbs 2 g fat.... 15 Flavors to choose from and more to come!
