Arif Ahmad vs. Collin Brathwaite

I have met with (and loved Arif Ahmad) for WLS. I was wondering if anybody has any opinions about Collin Brathwaite vs. Arif Ahmad. If you are one of their patients please let me know your feelings. I'm not sure if I should see a 2nd consult (if so, it would probably be with Collin Brathwaite) before I go through with this. Then again, I'm happy with what I know about Ahmad. Anyway, any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks!

Maryellen, I had dr brathwaite he is wonderful very nice and compassionate man. I had my surgery on 1/3/2006. I had little pain. I was very nauseous with all the drugs they give you as soon as they took the epidural out i was so much better. I had my surgery on tuesday and was released from the hospital on thursday and my husband went back to work on friday i didnt need him i really had no pain. They sent me home with pain meds didnt take any of them. Didnt need to. I really loved the docter and the office is wonderful his wife works with him . When you go for exam you get free valet service you dont have to park your car they do for you and they pay for it. I promise you you wont regret it at all.

I was seeing Dr. Ahmad from Sept 2003 to June 2004. He was wonderful. Unfortunately when he and Dr.Brathwaite left Stonybrook, neither one of them accepted my insurance anymore. So I went to Dr. Adaniel in WI. He was just as wonderful as Dr. Ahmad. I went through all of my pre-surg testing w/ ahmad and ultimately had my surgery with Dr.Adaniel. As for Dr. Brathwaite,,I've only heard good things about him as well. I have several friends in my support group that have had their sugery done by Dr.B and loved him. Good luck either way you go.
