Hi, I'm scheduled to spend two weeks off from work to recover after the Band.... I'm wondering how do you feel afterwoods? Was it diffcult to sit, stand or walk? Do you just feel full all the time?. Has anyone gone back to work earlier then expected. I just dont know what I would do with myself having to say home for two weeks. My date is July 18...... Cant wait............. Joy

WOW......... July 18.............. That was the date of my surgery last year. But I had the Gastric Bypass. Take as much time off as you can. It does get tiring even though you feel good. I went back to work the following monday on the 25th and even though I felt great, it does get very tiring sitting at a desk all day so I just did half days. I'm very happy with my surgery and the results it has given me. If you need any help, just ask.

Hi Joy! I'd say the hardest thing to do was to sleep on my right side. I don't have a recliner to sleep in to, so I thought I'd have a tough time. I still slept ok though. I was a little sore when I'd get up from sitting but other than that I was ok. I don't work anymore, but I had surgery Tuesday, home Wednesday and was in church Sunday. Two weeks later I walked around NYC in the great snowstorm. I've heard of bandsters who went to Disneyworld or shopping the day after getting out. I am not sure I could do that-lol! Oh and you may not feel the effects of the band until your fill. Don't panic, the first 6 weeks are about healing, not weight loss. Just be sure to follow your surgeon's instructions on the proper liquid textures. The band is seating itself in the proper place during this time. After three fills,2.5 ccs in a 4 cc band, I do feel quite full a lot now! I post my menus in the what did you eat threads, and you can see I don't eat much anymore. Kristine

Joy, Hun I can not talk about the Lap Band since I had RNY but I just wanted to say I wish you all the best on your up and coming surgery. I know for me I was out 3 weeks with the RNY and then the 4th week I came back I did half days. I wish you the best! ~hugs~ Debra P
