Hello all
Good morning all
I wanted to drop by and update y'all, my DH did get the new job
. He should start within 3 weeks. We will not have beneifits for a few months, from what I heard his new place of employment has the best insurance so that being said I hope to have WLS within the up coming year.
I will probably have to start all over again (16months and counting) but that is ok, I no longer have to deal with Preferred Care. If you are looking for insurance PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay away from PC they are not WLS friendly, unless you dont mind waiting 2 to 3 years for WLS. IMHO. So please keep us in your prayers. Have a wonderful day everyone
Thin wishes
and WLS dreams

Tammy,
This is wonderful news! I am happy for you.
One of the reasons I took so long in trying to get the lap band is because I didn't think our insurance was very good and was too scared to try. Then my hubby switched jobs almost 3 yrs ago, and got good insurance and I figured I'd go for it.
I think I possibly saved insurance thousands of dollars since diabetes runs in my family! You'd think the companies would see that! My uncle got a shipment of 44 boxes a month in health supplies for months before he died. If this option had been available to him, he could have avoided that and prolonged his life too.
Keep us posted!

Hello Kristine
Thank you, I know bad insurance stinks, but the future is looking bright. My family has every co mo listed, thankfully I dont have any YET!!!! But I know its in my future if I dont get my weight under control. you would think insurance would rather pay for preventative medicine.
instead of a life long prescription bill

Tammy,
That's great news about your DH's new job and better insurance. Better insurance means better care all around, which is so important with WLS. In the meantime, practice taking good care of yourself, keep your eyes on the prize, and you will be ready for WLS in no time!
Congrats on the good news and please keep us posted!
