liver update

Hi again. Just a brief update on my abnormal liver function test. Since I don't know what the numbers are I can't comment on that. The latest round of bloodwork (all hep tests, more iron, creatinides (sp?), etc) were normal. That's good news. This morning I had the ultrasound on the liver and gallbladder...as I watched and asked questions of the technician, there seemed to me to be no issues with either organ. However, I'm not the expert and they don't give out any details. I did see the hepatic vein in a color mode and it was quite impressive. I'm a techno nut but don't understand alot of it... Anyway, the pcp says that if that shows nothing, then I will need to see the gastroenterologist again. I wonder what test(s) he would have to do??? :confusion: Tomorrow I go for my 6 mo. post op check up (actually 8 months but whose counting ) More to follow...thanks for listening linda M 230/144/115

Well I dont know if this is good news or bad! Maybe you should have a HIDA scan(nuclear test) to see how well the gallbladder is functioning if no stones/inflammation are seen on the ultrasound. That is all they can see on an ultrasound anyway. How it is functioning is another story in itself. Good luck and keep us updated!! Tavia
