Ego strokes and other stories

Hi everyone! Boy, I have had a good ( and somewhat exhausting) week! I started back at work last week and since then, every day, I am literally inundated with co-workers' compliments on my weight loss. It feels so good to have this continuous barage of good feedback all day every day!! I went out mid-week and spent (a little too much) moola on new clothes. I know the clothes I'm wearing will only be transitional, but godalmighty it was fun to go to WalMart (cheap, but decent) and try on clothes. I am not used to EVERYTHING looking good on me! So I have a few new summer outfits to get me through. I am feeling much better energy-wise. All my miserable infections (bladder and yeast) have gone away. I have lost 28 lbs since surgery 6 weeks ago (58 including pre op weight loss) and have gone from a size 26 to a size 18! I can't remember the last time I wore an 18! The weight is coming off slowly, but steadily. My tolerance for food has improved and me and the toilet bowl have become somewhat estranged over the past week or so... BTW, I am going to take pictures this weekend to post. Does anyone have any opinion about photobucket? I checked it out and in order to use it, you have to give a lot of information (name, address, tel #) and agree to a host of things on their 'terms of agreement' statement...It seems kind of intimidating! Anyone use it? If so, what do you think of it? Anyway, there you have it. I report bad times and good, and the past week has been pretty darned ok!! Enjoy the summer weather and have a great weekend. Hugs to all, Amy

Hey doll! Great to hear about the compliments - you sure deserve it! And while you may be losing slowly (or so it may seem), you ARE losing and that's great. Isn't it fun to buy new clothes? Good for o for splurging a little on yourself. I can't wait to see the new pics. I've used potobucket and don't like it or dislike it. It's easy enough to use, and very easy to copy the url and add the pics to your profile. I don't remember entering a whole lot of information, I think I just skipped all that stuff and it let me use it anyway. Enjoy the weekend. Hugs - Robin

Hi Amy! Congrats on getting over the plateau hump! That's great you bought clothes too. I have been too afraid to-lol. Someone gave me a lot of clothes for winter so I'm set with those, but I wore shorts tonight that were falling off me, so I better get something I think I signed up for photobucket, but I don't think I have pictures there. I have pics at Webshots, and picturetrail. I don't remember having to give out too much info. I am so glad things are going better for you. Kristine

Thanks Kristine! Yes, you definitely need to treat yourself to shorts that don't sag!! Don't be afraid! You are worth it and you've worked hard for it. I've been getting stuff a little too tight, so that I have some leeway... I'll check out photobucket again. Maybe I misunderstood... Hugs, Amy

AMY: Hi dear angelette (and shrinking all the time!) Nice to hear you enjoying the changes along the way! I also am happy the infections are gone and your energy has returned. your shopping spree reminds me of the past, I too used wallyworld as a lifesaver for clothes. Many also went to goodwill! A quic story I used to buy one black, one blue, one brown pair of pants, then tops could mix, match in my transition time. When I hit a size 16, I got home and two days later or so when I went ot wear them they were too big !!! I was already in a 14! It is so strange, yes we need some clothes sometimes stretchy ones will give us the most time for the buck! LOL I use photobucket for my pics and haven't had an issue! It was recommended to me by a fellow WLSer OHer! I can not wait to see those pics, and those monthly I hope along w/ wts/measurements! *I say this becaus sadly I didn't do it and wish I had!!! Glad pouchie is cooperating and healing for you! Hiya Jaim, Thanks for your good words. I know what you mean about buying something and practically out shrinking it the next day! I have been buying stuff as tight as I can get away with. I will try photobucket and will let everybody know when I've posted new pics. I have been taking my measurements thanks to your suggestions a few months ago. Great idea. Hugs to you, Aim
