nutritionist information

Hello everyone, This is my first post. My name is Jennifer and I live way up north, in Watertown, NY. I just went to my first group seminar with Dr. Boss in Rochester and it went really well.. I had done so much research here that he really didn't tell me anything new but it is nice to hear it from the person that will hopefully be doing the surgery. Since Dr. Boss is a good 3 hours from me, I , along with a bunch of others, asked him if we could find a nutritionist/dietician closer to us rather than use his in house one. He agreed but said that we needed to really make sure that they knew what they were talking about because the insurance companies will know and won't accept it. I guess my question is two fold. does anyone know of any decent ones that have experience in the syracuse or north area? and also... what type of regime did you have to go through in order to get approved by the nutritionist? I'm from Rome, about 1.5 hours away from you. Dr. Graber in New Hartford has a nutritionist is that is experienced in exactly what he expects of his patients. My insurance paid for it without any questions and this was months before I applied for surgical approval (I have BCBC Select CAre). My nutritionist was great. She understood what we were going to be going thru and was very precise. Good luck on you venture to find an approved nutritionist.

I had Dr Kim at the Institute for human preformance in Syracuse. They have a nut there that I see each time I go. Not sure if thats any closer or not.........maybe some? Its a great program, and we have support groups almost every night (at different locations) I go to the Thursday night one, theres one in Camden Ny if thats by you.
