the meeting went well!
Hey Tavia. I am happy to hear the meeting went well, and it seems like you have an answer. Even though YOU KNOW that none of this was your fault, you sure had plenty of MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS in the hospital telling you otherwise. Now, this guy knows what the deal is, has dealt with others who have had the same problem, and knows there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
I know things will work out for you. S

Hey,
He told me he has heard my story almost exactly twice before, almost every single detail! He said the only difference is my surgeon has not poo-pooed me and labeled me crazy, like the other two he saw. He said what I have is a legit complication that is very rare and under diagonised.
Thanks so much for everything. How are you doing by the way? Feel good, ok?

Hi Linda
Thank you!!
Make sure you ask the GI doctor about getting a HIDA scan. I really think you might find your answer on that...then again, I am not the doctor, but good luck with the consult! I will be having my operation the day before your consult so you can just fill me in when I get back! Take care!

Hey Tavia
Im so glad to hear things are looking better for you or at least that the future is looking better. I have to laugh because everytime I need to know something I get on here and look for your posts because I figure there isnt anything you havent been through! You are like my personal book of knowledge on weight loss surgery so thank you for that. Ok im going to ask because I dont understand lol...If they remove the whole roux limp/connection..what is going to be left? Will you just lose the pouch all together or are they building a new one? Im confused!! lol. Im sorry..Im sure you have explained this a million times but I guess im a little slow when it comes to all this medical stuff. At any rate..I wish you the best of luck and hope that your journey finally has a happy ending. Take care................................Karen

Hi Karen!
Yes, it does look like my saga will come to an end...hopefully!
My pouch area isn't the problem, its pretty much everything underneath it that doesnt seem to work very well--the roux limb and the jejuno-junostomy anatomosis(Y connection).
Everyone has 26+ feet of small intestine. All they will do is pull up some of my small intestine and make a brand new roux limb and anatomosis'. My pouch will not be touched. This surgeon told me this all they will take up is about a foot of intestine and he would recommend a short roux limb to make to keep the malabsorption factor to a minimal for me. All I have to say to all of this is "OW!!"
Trust me I would take some more major surgery pains ANY DAY to make my problem go away competely once and for all!! This has been a long and arduous course for me and I really look foward to getting to the end it.
