pre-op lack of hunger

This may sound like a goofy question but what the heck.... Ever since I decided to have the surgery done.. from the moment I found a surgeon.. My stomach has been rebelling against foods and amounts that I would normally be able to eat. I am not doing anything different except I have stopped drinking soda and have substituted crystal light instead. I normally would be able to eat two pieces of pizza... nope... tried a couple of days ago and just made it through one piece and then it just sorta sat there... the same with hotdogs and other things that I know I shouldn't be eating anyway.. but has anyone else had the extreme psychological/stomach changes happen pre-op once you made your decision?

Hi Jennifer I went throughthe same thing and had the same problems. Even 3 days before the surgery, I went out to eat dinner as my last big supper, and I wasn't even hungry. It could be the soda. I had stopped drinking soda 3 months before surgery and all of a sudden, my appetite changed tremendously. We were put on a liquid siet 2 day before surgery. My surgery was a Monday morning, and on Saturday we had a big buffet birthday dinner to go to and I wasn't allowed to eat and it didn't even bother me that I was sitting around everyone watching them eat. I brought my jello and stuff that I could eat. Don't worry about not being able to eat as much. Thats a plus. Marie

Somewhat, but more after the diet began. Then I wondered if surgery was the right thing to do. I talked with myself back and forth. I had fought so hard for the surgery, there was no way I could turn back. 85 pounds and under 200 pounds, for the first time in 12 years I am glad I stuck with my decision! Kristine
