Hi all. So this is it, starting my 24 hours of clear liquids in the morning. How did you all do it? Any ideas on how to not go crazy and be starving all day would be much appreciated. Any ideas on what to drink that might help would also be appreciated. Well, 36 hours to go!!!!!

Hi there. Good luck with everything. Its not that bad. I had to do 1 week on my optifast before surgery and i survived. Just keep in your mind the reason you are doing it and you should be fine. Very exciting. You are so close. LisaMarie

Hi, Oh I'm excited for you. Try to drink something high in protein. I bought Isopure which is considered a clear liquid by my surgeon. I bought the 3 pound tub, but I'm not sure if you will like it or not though. I didn't like the ready made ones. Kristine

Hi, First of all --I am sending my prayers for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery. As for the liquid diet--well I had to do TWO WEEKS of liquids(Protein drinks only) before and TWO WEEKS after the surgery--so believe me --it will not be as bad as you think--Besides--you want your surgery to go well --so a clear liquid diet will help to shrink you liver --and make it easier for the surgeon to do his job Be Blessed , and we will see you on the loser side soon! Jello, lots of jello. Just check your instructions and see if says anything about red jello. I wasn't allowed anything that was red, so that meant no cherry, raspberry or strawberry. That pretty much left yellow or green... blech I did find pineapple jello though. It's yellow and wasn't too bad. Also try College Inn chicken broth. Use the unsalted though. The one with salt is way too salty. You can always add a little salt if you want to. It's really not that bad. Just try to keep yourself occupied. Do you have to do a bowel prep with phosporous? That's was worst part, but if you drink it really cold and as fast as you can, it helps. Good luck with your surgery and we'll praying for a speedy recovery. Joanne

Stephanie, I did what Kristine said, I got the zero carb clear Isopure drink already made in the bottles and it seemed to help the hunger. Also I did some clear broth which also took care of that hunger before. I don't really remember being that hungry because I was so nervous before... I wish you all the best hun! You will be a loser soon Keep us posted! Debra P

Hey Stephanie don't really have any words of wisdom on what to eat but I just wanted to wish you luck on an uneventful surgery. All the best and enjoy the ride. I am 2 weeks out today and I feel great I hope the same for you.
