***UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE*** I apologize for my quick reaction. The news had pronounced Dr Bartha's name both as Dr Bertha AND as Dr Bartha ... It is not the bariatric surgeon who was in the blast this morning but an ER doc named Dr Nicholas BArtha (v BErtha, who is the RNY surgeon) ... Sorry for the quick report that appears to be erroneous ... I must get involved in a project ... My conspiracy theories are working overtime! I apologize profusely ... Still a person is a person and we should keep this one in our prayers; it appears he had issues for sure. ********************************** ORIGINAL POST: May be the journalist in me but today a second bariatric surgeon from NYC was involved in a life-threatening "accident" ... Although he may survive. The townhouse where he practices suffered a gas explosion and was leveled to the ground. The name is Dr. Nicholas Bertha ... Keep him and his family in your prayers. This is the second su*****ident involving a bariatric surgeon in the last week. Dr. William Homan, his wife and a niece were killed last week when the plane he was flying crashed.

It should also be noted that they think that this was an attempted suicide, which was triggered by a divorce settlement. Sounds like a pretty selfish person if you ask me. If you want to kill yourself, go right ahead, but don't endanger the lives of others. Joanne
