You won't believe what happened today!! They sent me home from the hospital after prep. They said my liver enzymes doubled since last tested and it is not good for anestesia. I have to go tomorrow to a GI doc and get it checked to see why my liver enzymes are high!!!!!!!I am so mad and disappointed....I was ready ....and psyched myself up for the surgery. I am glad Dr. Garber didn't want to take any chances, but I have no idea why my liver is acting up. Please Pray for me. I hope it is just my gallbladder and they can take it out during surgery. I really am sorry that your surgery was postponed. I'm sure that your doctor is just being careful. I'm sure that you want him to be careful with your life. i hope that this is only a temporary bump in your road. Good luck and God Bless, Marcia

Hi Barb- Dr G is my doc, and I know they are very thorough. I kow everyone has an oversized liver and I know they tell us not to "eat up" days before surgery, becuz it enlarges the liver. He has been doing this surgery over 10yrs and if he couldn't operate safely, its better that, than taking a chance and losing a patient. Get the necessary testing done and I'm sure they can reschedule you within a matter of a week or two. Delays happen for a reason- Hang in there. I know its not what you wanted- but your time will come- you are in very good hands. Hugs, Donna

Definitely a total bummer! but I believe everything happens for a reason. I hope it will be a very temporary set back and you will be rescheduled ASAP. Sorry you had to deal with that I'm sure it was real tuff. Tina

I'm so sorry hon, I know exactly how you feel! When I originally went in to have my surgery on Oct. 3, 2005, I went under anethesia and woke up a couple of hours later to find out they didn't do it! Turns out my lymph nodes around my abdominal aorta were inflamed and they did a bunch of biopsies instead! They sent me home to get more tests done and I cried the whole way home, but everything happens for a reason and it made me more determined than ever! Everything turned out OK and I finally had my surgery on Oct. 20. Your day will come too! Hang in there!! HUGS, Vi

Violet.....I had to reply and say...WOW..I thought I had it bad. Thank you for your encouragement. I went to the Gastro today and he ordered many tests. My liver enzymes are real high and he thinks it is not liver disease or anything chronic....BUT still ordering Hepatitis A,B, and C tests...that makes me worried...but I don't know how I would get that? Anyway, I hope it is just a fatty liver. I am going to watch my fat intake for a while. Maybe I will be resceduled in two weeks. Thanks for your story. Barbara
