I'm having a problem with my Sleep Apnea Machine. Makes me sneeze and my nose runs constantly all day. I've tried the warm mist and the cold and they both do the same thing. I've tried no water and then I get a sore throat. My surgery is Aug. 4th and they want me to bring machine. With all the sneezing won't it hurt like heck? Nancy

HEY NANCY!!! SORRY your having issues with ur CPAP machine! YOU will need it when you have the surgery if you want any sleep while you stay in the hospitol. I know for me....I was not sent for a sleep test and my APNEA was missed.....after my surgery I would stop breathing when i dozed all the nurse alarms would go off and i got no SLEEP! its wasnt good...they then tried to get me used to one then but my lungs couldnt handle it so i got no SLEEP while in the hospitol, i begged the nurses to lower the alarms and they werent allowed! OF course everytime i set things off to they had to come running it was hassle...speak to your pulmonary doc and tell him whats going on! HUGS before long when your on the otherside you wont need the thing anymore! hugzzzzzzzzzz

Boy Lisa that was a quick response...........You had a terrible time in the hospital........How long did you have to stay? I have no one home or close by to help when I come home except for the cat and she doesn't fetch well at all. Can't wait for her to have one of her crazy running spells from one end of the house to the other and land on my gut where she usually does. Thanks Nancy

I had open LAP i had my surgery in the AM on wednesday and wasnt discharged till saturday mid day. MY surgeon is very cautous with his patients so he keeps them in longer. I didnt have my leak test till friday am and then started on some sips of liquids then and that made it 24 hours on clears to be discharged. IT was rough the lack of sleep but i managed. I have 3 cats none pounced my tummy thankfully...cats get those moments when they take off running in a flash I also was fortunate my 2 year old was very careful and understanding not to hurt mommies bobo's....while i was healing but it was just a matter of time i was fine. I was just careful not to lift him! DIDNT want a hernia ... hugzzzzzzzzzz

I wanted to say good luck to you. I had my surgery in April, and even tho I had the sleep apnea test, I wasn't told until after my surgery that I had mild sleep apnea. Because of that I had to stay overnight in the recovery room. I remember the nurses coming to me and telling me to breathe. I didn't realize that I stopped. I haven't been retested, although my insurance and the pulmonary dr were duking it out over whether I should be or not, but since my surgery, I sleep a whole lot better. Again, good luck to you! Sue

It is environmental allergies from the dust and pollen and stuff in the air that feeds thru the machine. Try some sudafed....the 12hr stuff works great. Kel
