NYC Trip......
Hello everyone in the NYC region I am planing a weekend trip this fall with my hubby and am looking for some advice. Things to do, where to stay, where to eat? Just wanted to get the inside scoop....this is not our first trip but our first stay and WITHOUT the little one. We are going to be celebrating 4years of wedded bliss...
Thanks everyone for the help!!!!

Where to stay depends largely upon your budget.
I've stayed in the Marriot in time square...which was very nice, and i've stayed in a comfort in type place right off time square..and the room was about 10x10...I opened the door to the room and thought...they have got to be kidding!!!!...lol.
As for things to do...it really depends on you. Do you like museums? do you like to do historical things? Do you like to see plays? Do you want to see sites?
Fall is a good time to be in the city, not to hot...not too cold.
I'd suggest seeing a broadway play. There are tons out right now that are just so worth seeing. If you like disney, the disney plays are out of this world.
Lets see, you can go to the statue of liberty if you like sites...they reopened up the base, you still can't go to the top....but that would be a good morning type of thing.
I like museums...my favorite is the museum of natural history. As of sometime at the end of last year they still had a butterfly exhibit where you could walk into a room of butterflys. Ok it was extremely HUMID...but very enjoyable (if the exhibit is still going on)
There are tour buses that travel through the city ..the are double decker red buses...that might be of something that would interest you.
Of course there is shopping...something my wife always wants to do when we're in the city.
There really are a ton of things to do ...i guess it really depends on what you like, how much time you have, and the big thing, what is your budget. Lots of things in the city are just priced crazy!!!
Hope you have a good time.

My husband and I went in April and stayed at the Paramount it was 1 block from times square and it was a nice place. We paid about 275 a night and that included all the tax. The room was small but we still had fun. We also stayed on 8th and 48th at the Comfort inn and the room was musty and cheap like 159 per night. But that was back in Feb 2002 when they were begging for tourists.
We are going again on August 11th and staying at Deertree Suites for $419 per night. My daughters and some friends.... We did the tv shows like Regis and Kelly and GMA. We had a great time though. Good luck. Try priceline.com or hotels.com for room fares.
~~hugs nd well wishes~~
