mississippi queen transplanted in NY

Hi everybody! My name is Crystal and I am from the Mississippi board. My husband and I are looking to move to the Rome, NY area. I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I'd like to make some new friends before our big move. I guess I could start by telling you a little about myself. I had RNY surgery December 13, 2005, and to date, I have lost a total of -102 pounds so far. I have hit a huge plateau that is very annoying to say the least! I have one daughter, her name is Sarah, and she is 4. The picture that is shown with this post is my 'before' picture, when I started out weighing 329 pounds. I am in the process of getting my newest picture up. My husband is from Pittsburgh, PA. He absolutely HATES Mississippi. It is where I was born and raised, so it is home to me. The cultures of the North and South really clash! He has been looking for a job anywhere except the south. He can't stand the heat down here. So far, he has found one job in the Rome, NY area as a sheetmetal specialist (He is ex-Air Force, which is how we met). Well enough about me, I would like to hear from any of y'all. If anyone is from the Rome, NY area I would love to hear what it is like up there. Take Care Crystal

Hi Crystal, Welcome to the NY board! My family and I just relocated to NY from Pittsburgh, PA in April. Im not sure where Rome is but if it is anywhere near me it would be great meet up! Let your husband know NY is a bit diffrent than the Burgh! At least where we live!! I dont see any Steeler Country around here which is depressing...lol. Again welcome!!!
