Hi everyone. My surgery date is August 14th and I still don't have an angel yet. I would greatly appreciate any volunteers. I'm very easy to talk to and I'm very excited about my journey! Thanks again.

Hi Diana. I JUST joined this site. I am looking for a support group locally for myself. I am about 8-9 weeks POST-OP. I have NO idea what an angel does...or where you live or are planning, surgery., but I am happy to talk with you about what to expect. I am just ahead of you a bit. Being excited is a good thing! I was and still am too. I can't say it has overwhelmed my life, but I KNOW how exciting it is to get the the "OMG" I am actually going to have this done, I'm approved, I'm scheduled" lol, I got my approval and got on the calendar a week later! It just worked out timing wise. Have you had all your pre-op testing done yet? I HADN'T until after I got approved, so I went runnign around like an idiot to get it all done in time! Which I did....doctors all over the place...but it has all worked out great! during those pre-op tests, they discovered I not only had gastrinitis, and esophigitis, but a serious hiatal hernia! I ended up having a second procedure at the same time! Thank goodness it was all discovered, I would have needed surgery anyways it seemed, for the hernia. Only later would have been worse. Guess my stomache was not supposed to be into my chest! Needless to say, I was feeling better, sleeping and breathing better nearly IMMEDIATLY after the surgery...of course the morphine drip didnt hurt! I am doing great today...loosing steadily, about 45 lbs, since a short while before the surgery...lost a few JUST before. Anything I can help with, let me know...just to chat perhaps,,,, Lisa

Hello Diana! My name is Maria and I will be your if you still need one! I had my Open RNY Gastric Bypass on October 12th, 2005 and I was nervous because this was my first surgery that I had ever had in my whole entire life! You should be excited about your journey because after you see the dramatic weight loss, you will feel alive and energetic! That is how I felt after I recovered from the WLS and it is a wonderful feeling, especially when you put on the jeans that you wore before the surgery and now, they slide down off your waist! Well if you are interested, send me an email and checkout my profile!
