I'm home! :)

Hello to all my OH friends and family! I am home from the hospital (it seemed like an eternity). The Dr. tried to convince me to stay in one more day bc of this heat wave, but I promised to be a "good girl and drink and stay cool. So Here I am on the losers side...but not really! I weighed myself when I got home and haven't lost any weight? Is this posible? I haven't eaten anything since Sunday afternoon. And only started drionking a tiny bit yesterday and today. So why haven't I lost? I'll continue on Stage 1 until Sunday, then I have the the pleasure of going to Stage 2, Yummy, can't wait! LOL I'm still very sore and swollen. Gas is coming out, but very slowly. As Lisa S. let y ou all know besides my RNY I had my gallbladder removed and a hernia repair. (is this why I am still so sore?) Hey, why didn't anyone forewarn me about the IV hooked up into my neck? I felt like a had a dog leash on! Happy to be home. Happy to have my own shower! (Can't wait until my mom goes back to her house tomorrow, she is driving me crazy!) okay, enough for now. Thanks again for all your well wishes. Hi MaryEllen, Welcome home. In answer to your question about wt loss since surgery: during surgery and hospitalization, you get pumped full of IV fluids. I gained 7 pounds while in the hospital! My doc said it was all IV fluid retention and he was right. Within 3 days, the 7 pounds came off. Don't fret, you're just retaining IV fluid and it will come off! Heal well, get rest, keep sipping, sipping, sipping. Welcome to the other side!!! Hugs, Amy

HUGS...MARY JO! Yeah i debated to mention that to you but felt it best u didnt know till after. THATS the other reason you werent going to be showering while in the hospitol. PLZ dont stress over the scale thing right now. YOU were given tons of IV fluids and your retaining that right now so dont stress that its not down already it happens to many, and some even gain from that. I am glad your home and please phone me for any and all things you may need! I am here for you!!! KEEP cool and take it easy. Maryellen, YEAH you are big loser now.. I am glad to hear all is well and you are starting to feel better. I takes time but you will be back to normal before long. I know from all the fluids they give you in the IV that you weigh more until you get it out of your body, make sure you keep sipping your water. It will really help with that bloating that is for sure. The gas was the worse for me, I lived on Gas X for a while. Well my cuz had your Dr and had the same IV in the neck thing but I did not. I guess some Dr's want it that way for their own reasons. I wish you all the best and can not wait to hear about your loss as you move forward in your new life Take care Debra P
