I went to weigh myself at my surgeon's office this morning because I missed my weigh day yesterday. (c'est la vie!) I thought to myself that I wanted to lose another 4 pounds since last weigh in (a couple weeks ago) because that would put me at 100 pounds since surgery. I stepped on the scale and it said I've lost 9 pounds since last time, which (don't do the math; I'll tell 'ya) is 105 POUNDS SINCE SURGERY!!! I cruised past the 100 pound mark and I did better than I originally thought! In fact, that's 116 pounds since I began my journey!!! I am excited. I am a little down-hearted because my sister that I live with doesn't share my joy like I thought she would, but it's good. I wanna go out and celebrate.....like, buy a new pair of used shorts or a ring or go for a walk. *sigh* I'm going to go cry mixed tears. Have a great day, everyone! And may your journeys go well for you!!! Jen Halliday

Hi Jen - CoNGRATULATIONS! Keep going and you will get there- don't let any little plateaus cause you any grief..They sometimes occur around 100lbs or so.. So keep that in mind Don't worry about your sister- she probably feels "left behind" if she has weight issues she eventually will see your good health and maybe you will inspire her to become healthier.. And keep doing what you are doing- protein first and you may want to look into biotin supplements or start taking hair/skin/nails supplement from Vitaminne Shop. Correllating with your rapid and big weight loss- shortly your hair will begin falling out or getting thinner. Start taking something now- to reduce its effect on you. I wish someone had told me that- when I was 5mos out. Stay focused and remember - stick to your program- and your outcome takes care of yourself. Cheers! Donna

Donna, Yeah, actually, I started losing my hair around 2 months ago, when I was about 3 months out. I mourned that loss of hair! I was told about Biotin and other hair and nail care products, but was also told that they might not work. So, I rode the wave and ---NO JOKE!--- after two months, the hair loss has defintely, noticably slowed down. *deep sigh* Thank good ness. I might still take hair and nail stuff to keep my skin looking good. I've always been told I have nice skin, but that might be because I'm a water drinker. Thanks for your reply, Donna! Jen Halliday

Jen Congratulations on your weight loss!!! You are doing great!!! Keep up the good work and don't let anyone bring you down. You deserve to celebrate. I am 1yr out and have lost 106# since surgery and 135# since I started this journey. For being 59 years old, I believe I have done well; especially since my surgeon said I probably would not lose 100# because of my age. I plan on losing another 35-40 pounds. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. {{{{HUGS}}}} Brenda

Hey Brenda! I haven't seen you lately, either on OH or at the meetings. Maybe I'm just missing you. Congratulations on YOUR weight loss; 106 pounds is great and definitely something to be pleased with!! I hope to see you soon. Actually, I won't be there this Monday because I'm going to Six Flags Darien Lake to camp for the week. Maybe I'll see you in September! Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers and I'll do the same for you, Brenda! Jen Halliday

Jen, You go girl! Don't let anyone bring you down, you deserve praise you have worked so hard to get where you are. Your sister is probably jealous, that is normal.I'm sure so many success stories have a great deal of support and always one person that doesn't share that joy. You probably feel you would be happy if she accomplished this but it doesn't work that way. When it comes to weight people are funny. But here at OH we support you totally. Enjoy your shopping Tina
