Well last night I spent 9 hours in my sucky local ER. I have had diarrhea for 2 days. Although I was forcing myself to drink as much water as possible! I was avoiding food and protein drinks so that I can consume more water. The doctor said I was doing pretty good because I wasn't as dehydrated as I "should" have been! Is this a " normal" occurance post-op? The weekend prior I was constipated. I took some M.O.M. and was using the bathroom for a day and a half. Then several days of nothing! All of a sudden I can't stop going! Luckily it stopped this mid-morning. I still feel very crappy though! I hope this "episode" too shall pass. Any feed back would be helpful. Thank you Michelle

EARLY out i had diarrhea...but figureing all i was takeing in was liquids of course it would only come out the same form. I just focused on getting in my liquids and proteins. THERE are bugs going around perhaps you had a touch of that!! GOOD LUCK ...for me when i didnt get enough fluids in a day i always seemed to have bathroom explosions too but a little further out then that i noticed that pattern. GOOD LUCK and keep ur doctor informed ! lisa

What you are going thru is normal. When I was early out I had diarrhea every time I ate !!! It does get better. My doctor said it was perfectly normal. I had this problem over a month. Good Luck.....Just remember it does get better. Donna open rny mar 18 2003 282/144/140

Hi, I hate to tell you that I get diarrhea regularly--Especially if I eat anything that has sugar in it! I can't tell you what to do for it--except to try very hard to stay away from those chocolate flavored protein drinks--I use Nectar (fruit flavored protein drinks) There is just something that doesn't agree with my pouch--in the chocolate flavored ones--by the way it may also be the fact that they are mixed with milk. You may be lactose intolerant. I am ten months out and I get bouts of diarrhea almost daily--but it doesn't last too long two or three hours--I just hydrate and stop eating for a while. My friend has the opposite problem--constant constipation! You may also find that your diarrhea is also a form of "dumping" . I wish that I could be more helpful--but you did the right thing--you went for medical help before you got really sick. I'll say a prayer that you get well real soon.
