The Update on Tavia - The Husband Report!
Hey all,
First, a big-time THANKS goes out to all of you out there at OH!!! The love and support from all of you means a great deal to Tavia and myself. For those of you who have sent cards... they are in full display on the wall facing Tavia so that she can SEE the love and not just FEEL it. Again, thanks to you all!!!
Joanne it was great to meet you last night, although I've been on the phone with you enough I don't feel like I was "meeting" you at all. Thanks for the visit. It really made Tavia's night. AND, people out there in OH land that have not met Joanne, she is SO MUCH better looking than her picture. I'm telling you, if I wasn't married...
Lisa Marie, thanks for keeping the OH board updated. I think Tavia should be well enough to talk tonight, so please, give her a call when you have the chance. And, I'm telling you (again) that card really was touching.
NOW FOR THE UPDATE:
Well, Tav FINALLY got her PCA pain pump and it's really made all the difference. Also, the catheter is out, the G-tube is clamped (although they're still testing it to see what comes out), and my lady is walking around in circles at 7 Tower. Speed... she is speed! (For those of you that saw CARS get this reference). In any case, yesterday, she took an upper GI test and a swallow test and both came out perfectly. And I could speculate on how I think it'll turn out, but I'd rather take an cautious optimistic approach considering the number of previous surgeries. But... I will say that I'm feeling pretty good about it. Please, let this be the LAST! As I've told Tavia, the next time I want to set foot in a hospital is when our son's wife is giving birth!!!
Well, that's it for now. I've spent the last couple of nights in the hospital with Tavia, but should be sleeping in my own bed tonight, so if you want to post anything, I'll be sure to check the board again tomorrow before I leave for the hospital and I'll send your well wishes Tav's way!
Thanks again for all the love and support... and GREAT cards!
Dennis
