Time To Introduce Myself

I think it is time to finally introduce myself--I have been reading and reading and reading--trying to help me get ready for the big day. I finally have a date--October 24th and Im just waiting for insurance approval. Hopefully I'll get it. The Dr's office insures me that Empire is one of the easiest for approval. Im have a borderline BMI but I have plenty of other issues that I hope should get me approval. In the meantime I get inspired by everyones postings and accomplishments. Any words of encouragements and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Everyone needs to continue with the great job they are doing--it truly is an inspiration to all of us newbies. Debbie M

Hi Debbie, Congrats on the date! I have Empire and used Dr. Garber and it was approved within a few days. I was so relieved. My surgery was 9/12 and I am doing very well, as will you. Dr. Garber is awesome. By the way...there are many Suffolk County Dr. Garber patients...enough to start a support group! Welcome to the "family" -Karen

Hi Stacy Thanks for the invite! I'm interested in your support group but not until after December. Im taking an evening class and it doesn't finish until Dec. 12th. Right now I am so overwhelmed with everything....I do get alot of support from reading everyone's posts--but it would be great to meet with people who don't live to far from me who have been through it already. Im so afraid I won't know if something is normal afterwards of if Im having a problem. Debbie

Hi Debbie, I'm the girl who had the endoscopy next to you. That's so great that you have a date. I'm hoping to have surgery in January. From what I've heard you are in great hands with Dr. Garber. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Patty

Hi Patty I finally have a date after I got the okay from the endoscopy--ulcer is cleared up. Now Im just waiting for approval--keep your fingers crossed for me. I'll be watching to see how you do in January--keep me posted. Debbie
