Hi Britt, Based on everything you have told me (what you eat, how much you work out, etc), I would think you would be losing faster. But...we are all different and each on our own journey. Having said that: if I was on an elective medication that might be compromising my weight loss, i'd wave bye-bye to it! We went through all this to get here....and uphill battle....why add another hill? Talk to you doctor. Perhaps a different pill would sort of "shock" your system into letting go of that DAMN 1/2 pound!!!! Hugssss, Karen

on the other hand, getting pregnant, would do a whole host more towards weight gain then a little pill would.....weigh your options! ANDI

I've been on Seasonal since about 5 months out. I have contined to have a steady rate of loss and no significant slows or stalls - but I have always considered myself a slow loser [I've lost about 145 pounds, my surgery anniversary is 2/15]. I have read that chemical birth control has weight gain issues for some. I would examine all your other eating habits, up your water intake if you can, and ride it out for the three month cycle. If you still feel like it's slowing you down, talk to your OB. Good luck!

I startred this pill eight weeks ago (yesterday) and this is my 2nd stall in that same eight week period. I am going to talk about my concerns (that the BC pill could be slowing my weight loss) with my surgeon and nutritionist this Thursday and see what they have to say. I know I am doing the right thing as far as exercise, diet, protein, water intake ... that is why it is SO frustrating!!!! If I was slacking and not doing the right thing diet wise - then I could understand it ... but that is not the case. I guess I should just wait and see what they have to say - and like you said ride it out and finish the first three month cycle. Thanks for your input! congrATS on your 145 - that is AMAZING! hugs, Britt

I'm trying to remember if people from my group were reporting a stall around 3 months ... it may just be your body catching up. Are you measuring?

Yes, I am taking my measurements and can see my body changing (I am so glad I take monthly measurements) I know that stalls are common - It just made me "think" because I have had 2 plateaus - 5 weeks apart - since I started the pill. thanks!

Britt: Wt gain can be a result of hormones, but the issue is if you are counting on the pill for BIRTH CONTROL think again! PLEASE consider alternative methods as you after wls we can become FERTILE! And the malabsorbtion w/ these low dose hormones is a very delicate concern. My surgeons said never again could I trust BCP, my GYN agreed, I went to the nuvaring (had irritation) then the patch (bloating and breast apin beyond belief) settled for a mirena IUD best thing I ever did and I was on the pill 13 yrs. Not suer why u r on this but if for BC PLEASE USE EXTREME Caution! Jamie

I am sooooo confused! Yes, I am on it for as a form of of birth control. I have heard many varied answers on the effectiveness as BC - My surgeon says its fine???? I am talking to my Gyno tomorrow to ask her. I do not want to get pregnant! So I am concerned!!! Thanks for your help. I have hear others talk about the Mirena IUD - did it hurt getting it put in? Thanks again Jamie! Britt
