question on EDG???

the dr told me he was going to give me a "gin and tonic" to make me feel drowsy and not remember what was going on..well..I told him I don't drink "gin and tonic"...could he make it a "screwdriver"..he laughed and said sure...ok..now my question...how long are you groggy, how long (hours) can you leave?

Lori - how long your groggy will depend on you. Everyone is different. My husband was a little out of it till 2 hours after. But he was allowed to leave almost immediately because I was driving. hope that helps. Collette

HI Lori, I also have Mr Hill as my surgeon. I had a stricture and had my EGD on Monday. I didnt feel or remember a thing. They were great. I was there a little over an hour and I was okay to leave. I slept all the home and was still drowsy but no big deal. I feel so much better after I had it done. I didnt realize how bad my stricure was. Good luck, you will be fine, the nurses were great.
