WHAT TO EAT? ANY IDEAS?
Hi Bethany , Welcome to the Loser side. I had my RNY GASTRIC BYPASS on 4/3/07 Before surgery I was 275 now I weigh 239 which I think is great...
I have been eating KIDS TV DINNERS.. I asked my NUT and she said thats fine. I buy the Salsbury steak w/mashed potatoes ..the turkey ..the fish and the chicken ..Don't eat the corn. I was told I can not eat corn so I don't eat it. But I find the TV Dinners perfect portion and I get full with them and there is our daily meat we need. I also cook on the side green beans /coin carrots
I also go to WENDYS and I love there baked potato either with cheese or usually I get it with sour cream and a little butter..
GOOD LUCK
Yvette
I am lucky that it is just my son and I, so if I don't feel like cooking anything big, I make him his chicken nuggets and i cook myself a fish stick. I have been able to tolerate chicken bits with mashed potatos and a little bit of applesauce, I make myself some tunafish and eat it on low fat crackers. I have also been ok to eat a deviled egg. I made chili one night with gound turkey that was tasty as well as a box of hamburger helper (my son's fav) and made that with the ground turkey as well and while he at the noodles and all, i just picked out the sauce and meat. It is scary when you get sick on something to try it again...but they say to wait a week or two before trying and you might be ok. My biggest thing is to chew throughly so not to swallow big chunks and of course, eat slow, and i have been able to keep almost anything i have tried down.
I used to make a mixture of ricotta/parmesan and mozzarella and add some marinara to it and microwave it until it was warm YUM! In my magic bullet i'll put steak, low sugar bbq sauce, and then lay some smoked mozzarella over it and warm it in the microwave. Some people enjoy refried beans, salsa and cheese. I am a big fan of tofu so i have that in miso soup, i stir fry it, whatever i do it's easy for me to digest. Good luck to you. ANDI
