2 more weeks to go

Well kids, I started my liquid diet today.  I now have the next two weeks to enjoy nothing but Slimfast Optima, Protein Shakes and a little bit of veggies.  I can mix and match drinks, as long as I come in at around 1,000 calories per day.  Since the Slimfast has quite a bit of sugar, I got a protein powder from Costco that has only 1 gram of sugar per serving.

Also, I had my Preadmission Testing Today.  If everything goes as expected, I'll be on the losers bench in two weeks.  I can't wait.  I am sooooooo ready for this.

We are doing everything we can to prepare for this.  It's going to happen and I'm going to be a success.  How's that!

Relax...sure Sue, that's alot easier said than done.  But i am trying as best I can.  I'm getting everything in order and if I forget something that I need after surgery, I have my partner to get it for me.

Lol, true, but you are over one of the biggest and most stressful humps.  Actually, two...the insurance and the testing and you have been trying for this for a long time, so you can take a moment and take a breath because you're almost there. I remember for myself, once the insurance approved my surgery, I felt like an enormous weight was lifted from my shoulders and then I just took a step back and chilled until my surgery.  I think it was 6 days between approval and surgery. You are really fortunate, too, in having a supportive partner - that will help tremendously. Congrats on your approval and good luck to you! Sue

Thanks Sue.  After the initial excitement wore off (for the time being, anyway) I can relax a bit now.  I've been stressing so much that I think I memorized all the paperwork from the surgeon's office.  I have to have a quiz with the nutritionist yesterday and she was impressed that I got 100%.

Now all I can do it do my liquid diet and wait for August 6.  Thanks for all of your encouragement and support, Sue.

Hi Rachelle. I remember reading about all of your setbacks, so this is great news. There is a time when things are just supposed to happen in your life and this is the TIME for you. I'm very excited for you. Sincerely~~ Diane
