Met Dr. Caruana today...

I met Dr. C. today and the appt. seemed to go pretty well.  He's a nice guy and he was very easy to talk to, answered all  my questions.  He says I'm a good candidate for the surgery and that we should have no problem getting approval from the insurance company...YAY!!!!    Now I just wait until I hear from IH and then from Deanne.  I'm hoping to go to the support group meeting on the 14th but I  have to see if my hubby's work schedule will line up.  Deanne said I could possibly get a surgery date as early as October!!  I really thought this would take so much longer...not that I'm complaining, I was  just very pleasantly surprised. Thanks  for listening and I'll  keep you updated. Oh yeah, is anyone from here planning on going to the support group meeting on the 14th?? Flo

Dr C is awsome and so is Deanne!! I also had IH and I was notofied within 48 hrs for approval. Dr C also told me that hardly nobody was ever denied through IH..so you are well on your way!! Congrats!
I am going back to work on the 6th, but I plan on going to the meeting on the 14th, provided I feel up to it after working all day!

Everyone at Synergy seem to be the best! I have Indep. Health too and was approved on the first try. I am about 90mins from Synergy, so I don't attend support groups there. Have you been to one yet? I go to one in Chautauqua county & find it helpful to say the least. Congrats to you!!

Hi Flo,        I went to the support group meeting on Friday the 3rd.  I thought it was great, it lasted only one hour, but I received a lot of information.  Katie was the moderator of the meeting.  I saw Dr. C outside the center, just before the meeting, he was holding a young child.  He was doing a cooking seminar just before the support meeting.         I would like to go to the meeting on the 14th.  I will probably go, since it doesn't take to long for me to get there, it is about 4 miles from where I live.  It is at 6:00.       I hope that my PCP got a chance to talk with Dr. C.  so hopefully I can get an appt with him soon.  My psych eval is this Thursday evening.  All my other paperwork is in.     Anne

I HAD DR. C. ALSO.  HE WAS GREAT ALONG WITH HIS STAFF.  I GO BACK ON THE 7TH FOR MY POST OP APPOINTMENT.  I KNOW EVERYBODY TELLS YOU THIS, BUT TIME WILL FLY.  I HAVE COMMUNITY BLUE BUT I WAS APPROVED THE FIRST TIME ALSO.  CONGRATULATIONS
