Hi there, Basically any type of pillow that you will be holding onto when you need to do breathing exercises that require you to cough.  Also, it helps to bring a pillow from home for the ride home, at least it did for me.  I had the pillow over my stomach and it was great to take the pressure off the seat belt and also helped when hitting a pothole or bumps.  Your belly will be tender and sore.  Jossling around doesn't help it feel better, that's for sure.  Anyway, bring a nice comy pillow from home.  You might not neet there but you will be glad you have it when you travel home! hey you!!!!!!!!  i have a body pillow i ALWAYS sleep with(with pets and my guy, too).anyway, it is good protection if you cough from surgery (dry cough, asthma cough, etc) to limit the amount of pain that may happen from the pressure of the cough in your abdominal area...(.maybe even a sneeze..)..you may not even cough.......i brought mine , because our dr's list said too, and it was a comfort for me anyway while being there for 4 days.............i hugged it, cried into it, fell asleep more comfortably with i****ched tv with my legs up on it, and it was a piece of something that gave me good feelings......so with that, it was a positive experience for me..............bet you will appreciate it............. love, hugs, best wishes, christina
