6 week update
Well friends,
Today was my 6 week check up and my Doctor is very happy with me. I am down 4 more pounds which again is different from my scale here at home. I thought I was at 340 and I'm at 342. Just goes to show you I need to stop weighing myself at home! hehe!
At any rate Dr. Rivera says I'm doing above average in losing and until I get to the point that I'm not losing or even starting to put on a couple pounds I don't have to have a fill. I now have to begin "weening" myself off liquid calories ( the protein drinks) and have protein bars as a snack inbetween meals. How is that going for everyone else? Seems to me like that is going to be hard to get in enough protein but I am really going to give it a shot. I'm excited about my progress even though I made some bad choices last week. I feel focused and I know its all part of my learning process. Also,
Way to go Sandra. You're doing great!!! Keep it up. I had the lap RNY done on 9/4/2007 and I'm still on pureed foods. I go back to the dr. on 10/18/2007 and will be able to start solids at that time so I'll be weaning in a few weeks. I'm actually a little scared at that thought. I guess with plenty of chew chew chewing and eating slowing it'll go just fine. I cannot give you any suggestions regarding the fiber. I'm not on any veges and only some fruits that I can either puree or put in with my protein shake. Perhaps check with your nutritionist, I'm sure she has some good ideas about the plumbing issues. (A little pureed prunes perhaps? or 4 oz of prune juice should do the trick every few days.)
Enjoy your weekend too. The fall weather has left the building down here and it looks like Indian Summer is trying to make a come back.
Good Luck.
Jessica
