I'll be at Jones Beach with my group From ACS's Camp Adventure. I'm hoping I can make the 5 miles being that I'm only going to be 21 days post-op at that point! I just want to say...if you've never done it, it's a GREAT and MOVING experience! I highly reccomend it

Hi Jane, Being only 21 days out I would get doctor's clearance to do the walk.  Please be very careful.  You may do yourself harm.  Dress warm it is cold on the beach (hat and gloves). Lenny

Hi Lenny,

This will be my 4th year walking with team Camp Adventure and I'm sure my MD will let me. I'm see him tomorow for my 1st post-op visit and that's actually question # 2 on my list of many I know hats and gloves are a MUST!! I swear every year it gets colder and colder out there at the beach.

I just did my 3rd walk in Rochester Ny a few weeks ago. A good friend of mine passed and we walk in her memory. It was a sunny, 70 degree day and 9,000 turned out!! Hope you have a great day to!!

Hey Breast Cancer Walker! From someone that had 5 surgeries for breast cancer last year and finally a mastectomy in August, thank you from the bottom of my heart!  Without people that care, I may not be here! Debbi

Thanks, so do I.  It's funny I don't have any regrets.  can't think about oh poor me without a boob!  There are people out there that have it worse than me.  Hopefully next year after my WLS surgery I can do the walk also. Debbi
