newbie moving fast
Well- I made the decision and waited 2 months for the 1st appt with my surgeon. LOVED him. That was March 19th- as of today I have all my consults scheduled or done by- April 3rd!!!!! That means I get to see him again sooner and schedule surgery sooner and START LOSING sooner. I know I sound like a whack-o- but I've been reading and lurking for weeks now and I am over the moon. I did second guess WHICH surgery today, but I am resolved that this is what is right for me at this time. I'll chat more and be here for you guys to cheer you on-soons I step out of doc's offices- SO MANY OF THEM!
Congrats to you! Im just starting my journey with the Docs...just during the month of April I have 5 appointments....the last one being on the 29th for my first consult with the bariatric surgeon. I too have been reading and lurking for weeks now and I find soooooooooooooo many people here such an inspiration...good luck to you on your journey, and from what I have read here its quite the ride.
Congratulations on taking the first step towards a healthier life. I am also a patient of Dr. Holover's. He is an excellent surgeon and you are in terrific hands. Keep us up to date as you complete all of your consultations.
Best of luck with everything.
Hugs,
Lisa

I am so happy for you!
I first met with my surgeon in January and I am finishing up all my consultations this week. My surgery is April 10th, just two weeks from tomorrow. All I am missing at this time is the final approval from my insurance company. The office staff says approval should not be a problem.
I hope you wait for surgery goes as quickly as mine has.

I moved fast too! I did all my research and did all the clearances before I even met the surgeon because I knew what was required. A month later (4 1/2 days ago) I had my surgery. There are benefits and drawbacks to moving so fast. The drawback is that I don't think I had a clear view of how HARD this surgery would be and exactly how to get in the proper fluids, foods etc right after surgery. The positive is that I was very anxious before surgery and that would have been hard to tolerate for a long period of time. Then again, maybe if I had more time to prepare I wouldn't have been so anxious. Anyway good luck to you!
As Lisa said, you are in very good hands with Dr. Holover. What's not to like? (as my mother would say.)
You don't sound like a wack-o at all...you sound like the rest of us did. After I first saw Dr.Garber, I called every single doctor on that specialist list, and whoever could see me first, that's who I went to. I think I saw them all within 2 weeks! And Garber/Holover's office was great about working to get me approved. --I must have called Stephanie every day, and she was very sweet about it.
Keep us posted on all your appointments!
Take care,
